  1. I have a HD500 and was wondering if there is a way to set the default view on the LCD as the performance view? My old eyes cant see the signal flow view that well..... Thanks.
  2. So here's where I'm at...... I did a global reset and issue persists..... There seems to be no reason at all behind the output levels of the amp models when used in a 4 cable system. At first I thought it might relate to actual output of the various amp models with lower watt amps being quieter. Not so. The high gain stuff (treadplate, doom, etc.) all works great. The Gibtone and supr 0 provide enough level to be usable. The PHD, blakface normal & lux, and lot's of others are all very weak. Some can be brought to a usable range by turning up the mixer levels all the way but others need even more like all the gain a studio pre can add after tha mixer. Any type of real clean tone with any headroom seems almost inmpossible, thankfully I can get a great clean tone from the pre in my actual amp...... But still this doesn't seem right.....should be able to use any amp model with this connection. I mean after all when not using the FX loop and my preamp it is basically a single cable connection direct to my power amp..... Anyone else have any thoughts?
  3. Guess I'll try a global reset later today and see what happens.
  4. Yes, i thought the same about the FX loop switch.....which leads me to believe that something in my global system settings may be off, but I can't find anything.
  5. Yes, Have tried both settings there, Didn't really notice much difference between the two. Also tried both line and amp settings on the switch by the pedal.
  6. Hello, I am using my Pod HD500 in conjunction with my favorite Tube amp via a 4 cable connection. While I love my amps pre amp I also want to use some of the other amp models to develop different tones. I am having problems achieving unity gain among these different amp models. I thought getting my pre amp to dial in would be the problem but I can't seem to get the amp models to output at levels that allow switching between models (patches) at anywhere near similar volume. I was using the pre amp models first which was really bad, some amps can barely be heard despite all knobs at 10.. I switched to the complete amp models and turned off the cab modeling and results got better but still very inconsistent. But at least 40% or so of the amp models are almost usable. My initial set up for comparison is simply the amp model with nothing else in the signal chain. I realize I can add some boost, etc to get things hotter on the quiet patches but that starts to push the tone away from what I would be looking for in say the gibtone or super o type amp models. Any advice on this issue is welcome, thanks.
