  1. Full Disclosure: Current or previous endorsements with GK, DR strings, Blackstar, Cleartone, Rebel Straps, Dickies, Dava Picks, Dean, Nady.

  2. Long time user and fan of L6 products, first time poster... I have read plenty of topics on using a Pod HD/Helix with the Firehawk, or using the Pod HD with an FRFR speaker such as the L2m, but I haven't ran across any comparisons as to the benefits or drawbacks of the HD/FRFR vs the Firehawk 1500, unless my search skills aren't up to scratch in which I appologize. What i'm doing is... I've recently made the switch from primary bassist to primary rhythm guitar. I was a semi-professional touring bassist and have spent countless hours and dollars developing my bass tone. I'd like to minimize the amount of hours wasted chasing my guitar tone solution. The shock of beaming guitar tones from traditional cabs is nearly unbearable now that i'm playing through them. I'm not a balls-to-the-wall player who needs 412 cabs, or a tube tone snob who chastises anything sans-tube. I'm simply looking for a handful of pleasant overdriven tones for my new hard rock/stoner rock project. The extras needed, I'm already aware that both solutions provide, such as: Overdrive pedals Reverb PEQ HPF/LPF Tuner Simple right? The only caveats are the solution needs to be adequate volume for a hard rock band with consistent tone and excellent dispersion. Helix is out of the question at the moment. It is too costly to pair it with an FRFR if this project doesn't pan out, as I can easily return to bass and have a great rig already. Thanks for your time!
