  1. RELAY G55 losing signal power.

Recently I have found that my Relay G55 seems to be getting a weaker signal, so only putting out around 50%, compared to using a cable.

It's not down to any drop off, as it is still a constant signal, just weaker.

I have changed the cable going to my guitar, tried a new cable going out of my G55 to my Helix, and used non-rechargeable batteries, but it's made no difference.

Has anyone else had this issue, and if so, how did you resolve it.

Thanks in advance for any replies.

    Vinny.

  2. Hi Guys, I had this same issue but managed to resolve it, here is how I did it.... 1st, remove all Line 6 soft wear on your PC or Mac. 2nd, Download the Helix Drivers, L 6 Updater, and the HX edit. 3rd, unplug the USB from your PC or Mac. 4th, restart your helix whilst pressing in buttons 1 & 6, and you should be put in update mode (sorry I can't remember the exact wording) 5th, now open HX edit and it should recognize your helix, you should also get a connection and then be able to continue with the update. Hope this helps...... P.S. Check out the new cabs, they are excellent.

  4. Watching this as I've had the same issue. I saw a guy on YouTube say he had it a year or so ago. He uninstalled all Line 6 products from his computer, reinstalled them, switched it on and it worked. I tried it half a dozen times but still nothing.

    Global EQ

Hi Folks, I wonder if anyone else on here could see the benefit of being able to have more than one Global EQ option. I have to fine tune mine for house, live, going FOH and backline and reckon it would be a fine addition. So having the ability to have a list of Global EQ presets ?
  6. Thank you for your reply...I'll check it out.
  7. Hi Folks, I'm not sure if any Line 6 staff are one here, If so, can I make a suggestion. I have the Helix Rack and controller and love everything about it other than the scribble strips. I love the idea of the scribble strips and think they look awesome in the advertised images on your website, but in reality they are so bright they almost take away the need for the LED's on the switches. My suggestion/question is..... Could you add an adjustment or edit for the strips with a brightness/contrast parameter. Mines looks like the contrast has been set at 10 and although it's a very small thing, would make a big different to the cosmetic side of the Helix. I have attached an image of the difference between the advertised look, and what we get. Thank you for your time, Vinny.
  8. I live in Scotland where it always rains so sunny days aint really an issue ; )
  9. No Problem, this is how I see it but it is only my opinion. The one negative I have with regards to Helix is the drop or loss of signal when changing between patches. Any other FX processor I have owned has that problem sussed. The only way to avoid it that I have found is by setting up a whole preset with everything I need i.e. clean and dirty amps, fx and so on, then utilise the snapshots feature to change between amps without a pause or drop in signal. The only downside about that for me however is ...no inverted scribble strip to see at a glance where I am. It's a small thing I know, but IMO it would be beneficial. Vinny.
  10. Hi Line 6.

I am a Helix user and love it but have a suggestion for maybe a possible future update ?

As I find the pause between presets annoying, I use the bottom section of switches as snapshots, within a preset, and the top as stomps but it seems the scribble strips only invert with a preset. It would be nice to have chosen snapshots and stomps invert too so I can see at a glance what is on or off.

Is this something Line 6 could look into as a future update ?

    Thanks again for your help.

  11. Thanks GH, I now know why I cant cant them to light up. As I find the pause between presets annoying, I use the bottom section of switches as snapshots, and the top as stomps. It seems the strips only invert with a preset. It's perhaps something Line 6 could look into as a future update. Thanks again for your help. Vinny@V.K.G.
  12. Hi Folks, I keep seeing dudes on Youtube Helix videos select a switch and the scribble strip inverts from black to white. Anyone know how to get this to work as I cant suss it out . Vinny \m/
  13. Hi Guys, Thanks for all the replies and help with this one. I did get it sussed out by adding a Noise Gate just before the Send and Return, then another at the end of the line, just before the output and it works. Vinny.
  14. Thanks for the info bud. I'll check it out then let you know how it goes.
  15. It is set to instrument yes...
  16. Thanks for the reply, I'm using the helix with my JVM head. The JVM is a very quiet amp considering it can be high gain. What I have found is that as soon as I plug in the Helix using 4CM there is a hum. I changed cables but its still there. The only way to get rid of it or lessen it is by using the Noise Gate on the Helix, but set pretty high, which then means it cuts off the signal quicker that I would like.
  17. Hi Guys, I'm a relatively new Helix user/owner and although I am delighted with it, I have found an issue that I cant seem to resolve and wondered if there were any tips or upgrades to help. My Issue - As well as using the amp models straight into the desk, I plan on using my Helix as an FX board with my Marshall JVM. I have hooked it all up via the 4 Cable Method, which is fine, but there does seem to be a lot of hum. I have changed cables and set up a Noise Suppressor at the end of the FX chain but I feel it cuts the natural sound of what is a very quiet amp. I haven't used it live yet as it could be an issue. Does anyone have any answers to this..... Thanks for reading, Vinny@V.K.G.
