My problem was solved by my son. It is Apple permission "shenanigans" as he called it. This was the fix. To reset your user folder permissions to normal, follow these steps: Open System Preferences -> Users and Groups. Click the padlock in the bottom left corner and authenticate with admin credentials. Right-click (or hold down Control as you click on) your username in the left sidebar. Then, select Advanced Options. Take note of your User ID. It should be a three or four-digit number. Then, click Cancel, and close System Preferences. IMPORTANT: Do NOT change or modify any of the values shown on that screen. Open Terminal, located in Applications -> Utilities. Type this command and hit Enter (replace userID with your real User ID): diskutil resetuserpermissions / userID Terminal will let you know when the repair is finished. When done, restart your Mac.

Yes. I did the 3.81 update to HX Edit. Still no updating. My son is an IT guy but not as much with Macs. He is a PC man. When he gets a chance he is going to have a look. What I need is someone who is very knowledgeable about how Line6 software interacts with Macs. Troubleshooting computers and software are not in my wheelhouse. I’m gonna call Line6 Support again. Apple support is really no help. It just may be me.

I just started using a MacBook Air with M3 chip to run HX Edit for my Helix LT. Everything works great except it will not create a backup. I can export and import Setlists to put on my Helix at church. I don’t have enough MacOS experience to troubleshoot. I’ve called Line 6 support and Apple support without any resolution. I’ve reinstalled HX Edit. Put a backup on my PC then did a factory reset. I have the latest OS on my Mac. Still can’t create a backup. I click on file, select create backup the the drop down just goes away. No box with the backup file name and date or progress indicator. Has anyone else run into this ?

I have just purchased one of the hard to find left handed Variax 500s. I would love to have a newer model but they just won't build one. I have a POD HD 500X and XTLive. The guitar came with the Workbench interface. I want to restore it to factory settings then build my own guitars and patches for the POD. Can I use my POD HD as an interface for Workbench ? I guess I need to get a manual for the Variax if one is available online. I'm excited to see what it's capable of. Any suggestions welcome.
