  1. Hello. I'm new to this forum having just purchased a Sonic Port. As you can imagine, I'm still experimenting with this versatile looking machine and also with Mobile Pod. One issue I've hit is how to control the volume on the various devices. In order to get the guitar to go loud enough (single coil Silver Series Strat) I have to turn up the volume on my iPad/Phone. This gives plenty of guitar volume but then any music I am jamming along with on the iPad goes too loud. There are volume controls in Mobile Pod (both on the cabinet and on the output chain) but turning these up without cranking up the iPad volume on many of the patches doesn't give much guitar volume. Can anyone advise on the correct order and approach to balancing the various volume controls? I suppose I could play my jam-along music from a separate device rather than the one I am running Mobile Pod on but this seems to defeat the whole object. Many thanks P.S. what does the noise gate do and does it really work?
  2. I can't help much as I've just bought and connected a new Sonic Port myself. I did experience a similar problem at first where my iphone/Pad was playing music but no sound from the guitar. I re-made the connections several times (not very scientifically I'm afraid!) and eventually got guitar sound. All I can suggest is re-making the connections in a different order and see if that helps. I have another question about volume but I'll do a separate post about that.
