  1. i have pretty much an identical issue as my Helix is only 8 days old I've sent it back to the dealer. unfortunately theres going to be a long wait for a replacement.
  2. thank you for the advice. to be honest, as it's new I'd rather have a replacement rather than a repair. it looks like nobody in the UK has them in stock at the moment,
  3. weird, I posted something literally 3 minutes ago, switch 9 does exactly the same thing. I hope this is just bad luck rather than a bigger issue
  4. so my 10 day old Helix has a dodgy footswitch (number 9), occasionally does not latch on & off. very intermittent. for every 10 times you press it, maybe once it wont either switch on or off. so back to the shop it goes. Andertons aren't getting any more stock until end of May at earliest. depressing!
  5. Thanks Rickster, the penny is slowly but surely starting to drop!!
  6. am assuming there must be a difference between them though, otherwise why have the option to have separate send/return or both in one block if both do the same thing?
  7. guys I really appreciate you replying to this. I'm just not doing a good job of explaining my confusion! I understand the routing/cabling. it's where to put fx blocks in the signal path that I'm struggling with, and what type of send/return block to use (the ones with both arrows lit up or the send/return with just individual arrows lit up). I guess i need to find somebody local who might have one or at least understands better than me (which is probably most people!!)
  8. thanks for the link. I have already seen that one and a few others on YouTube which is why I guess i'm still feeling a bit stupid for not getting it! with that video its hard to see the Helix screen and what the blocks are doing. what I'm trying (failing!) to understand better is where about within the signal chain to send a signal to the amps loop and where to return. things like that. I've also seen some patches where the send/return block on the Helix screen has both arrows activated (both arrows highlighted white) whereas others have only one arrow highlighted (i assume either sending or returning the signal). what would be the reason for having both arrows activated in the block? many thanks for any help
  9. I realise to some of you this will seem crazy, basic stuff but I really am struggling to understand when I'm setting up a new patch where to place correctly the send and return blocks within a signal path. This is assuming I'm trying to get the best out of my set up using my Blackstar combo in 4cm wiring. any help at all would be really great, and please keep it as basic as possible!
  10. the amp has a switch on back for the fx loop, you can choose +4dBV or -10dBV, which would be best if using 4cm ? many thanks,
  11. hi all. just got a Helix & want to make sure I'm hooking it up correctly using 4 cable method have a Blackstar HT Club 40 combo amp with effects loop. guitar to Helix in Helix send to Blackstar input Blackstar fx send to Helix return Helix 1/4 out to Blackstar fx return is that correct? what do I benefit by setting it up this way? sorry for the obvious 'newbie' questions but this is the first multi fx processor or indeed the first amp with an effects loop that I've ever used. thanks. smile emoticon
