Hi Folks Just noticed that my Helix mic input (which I’ve never used) is possibly broken. Wondering if there is an easy way to push this silver metal thing back in where it should be? I’ve tried what I can think of, and it doesn’t seem to work. Hope I’m not going to have to open the thing up. thoughts? thank you Steve

I've had my Helix for 3 weeks now and am not able to get my hi gain presets sounding great. I have programed the gig I am doing (just under 2 hours of music) using versions of the Soldano lead channel (and the cabs that are in the factory presets) for most of my hi gain sounds. They sound pretty good through my Yamaha MSR 250, but not through the headphones and XLR to house, where they tend to sound a bit digital. Kind of fizzy/fuzzy and lacking an "in your face" quality. It makes me question the quality of the speaker simulations. (I did discover, in trying to remedy this problem, that the noise reduction has a bit of a tone suck quality. Removing NR from my presets helped the quality of the sound. FOH is taking the left/mono XLR output. Is there possibly a global EQ setting that you all might use to remedy this? Or might I have some setting incorrect. Or could I be encountering some kind of phasing problem with FOH just taking the mono out or internally? (Which would not explain the headphone signal also being poor) My cleans, which are mostly tweaked Matchless sounds are fantastic. Thoughts??? Thanks

MAN!!!!! HonestOpinion Success I think I must have still had some bits of older line6 downloads still in there. This time i was very careful to search for everything and get rid of it. Those files do install automatically on Macs, but mine got buggy and I never saw an "updater" I love you man Thank you I lost my handful of presets, but don't care Steverts

Hi HonestOpinion My new Helix has version 1.06.5 installed So I am trying to install the latest version I will do what you suggested above and report back in 15 minutes Thanks again

Hi HonestOpinion Thank you for your assistance here. I have gone to the link you provided above and downloaded what was there. It is simply called "Helix2.01" and is 86.51 MB. There is nothing indicating it being an updater or editor. When I try to open it, all I get is a black page that says "Firmware Version Out Of Date 2.00 or later is required" The rest of the page is black. There is nothing to click on. No other options. I seem to be doing everything suggested to no avail. If I can't update the Helix, I'll need to return it. I am running 10.8.5...maybe it's my computer??? Thanks Steverts

Thank you so much Honest Opinion I tried this about 5 or 6 times yesterday and couldn't get anything to open on my computer. Decided last night that maybe the problem is my 7 year old MacBook Pro. This time, following your link, I was able to open it....but it just says "Firmware version out of date. 2.00 or later is required." This is progress i suppose. The whole reason I am doing this is that I am trying to install the latest firmware. I know mine is out of date. Sigh

I have been having a similar problem to the original question here. I have spent the afternoon trying to download the 2.01 update into my mac, but cannot get anything that seems to work. I can't even get so far as to update my new Helix because whatever I download from the support page seems to do nothing. (I don't have to worry about ruining or losing presets because I'm not making any until I get the latest firmware into my Helix. I am not a computer wiz, but have never had a problem like this. Something that should be fairly simple. Have been using a Fractal for 4 years and never encountered this confusion. Can anyone talk me through what to do? Thank You In Advance Steverts
