  1. I've set up the same exact high-gain preset on Helix floor and Helix Native. When I plug my guitar into the floor I get a standard amount of noise. But when I plug the guitar into my audio interface to record with Native, the noise is much higher and I have to set the noise gate much higher, but the dry input signal is at a pretty similar level than the Helix Floor. I wonder if this is normal with audio interfaces. I'm using a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 3rd Gen with the INST mode enabled when I plug guitar directly. Do you know any way to reduce the input noise from the interface? Thanks

    JMP-1 on Helix?

Just tried those settings... setting the mic to a 67 and using the legacy tube driver was key, for some reason I didn't bother going into the legacy tab before... What I hear now sounds very close to the tone I had in my POD X3. It's a very good start, thanks!

    JMP-1 on Helix?

Sorry what's the difference between using the Brit 2204 Pre-Amp and the Amp? I thought it was the same sound On the POD X3 I used: Stomp - Distortion: Tube Drive Amp - 1996 Brit JM Pre Cab - 4x12 78 Brit Celest T-75's (67 condenser mic) That gave me a cool high-gain oldschool shred tone that was great both for soloing and rhythm with my strat. The Brit 2204 on the Helix can get a similar sound but I somehow miss the JM Pre of the POD X3. maybe I was just too much used to it. Thanks

    JMP-1 on Helix?

I just upgraded to a Helix from a POD X3. My fav amp on the X3 was "1996 Brit JM Pre" which as far as I know was modeled after a JMP-1 preamp. However, I'm sad I can't find this in Helix. The most similar ones are the Brit 2204 and 2204 Mod, but I feel there's something missing from my old sound. Anybody who had the X3 missing this amp? What amp are you using on the Helix instead? Thanks!!
  5. My Helix arrived yesterday and I found out that the easiest way to do this for me is just switching the audio interface in the Cubase settings. I usually use just 1 audio input so it doesn't bother me much. But beware you will get a BSOD if you shut down Helix while it's being used as the audio interface in your DAW.
  6. Hi! I have a Foscurite audio interface which I always use for Cubase. I'd like to record the dry signal of my guitar with the USB 7 feature of the Helix, but I wonder if this is only possible to do while using Helix as the audio interface... Can I record dry signal via USB while still using my Focusrite as my audio interface in Cubase? Can Helix USB be used just as audio input without being used as audio interface? I'd like to do so and then reamp with Helix Native My Helix unit arrives next week Thanks!
