Hi All. I own a Variax 700 Bass (sunburst, 4 string). It's in awesome condition and has worked like a champ for years of studio only work (no nicks or dings in the body). The processor inside of it is dead and Line 6 wants me to ship it back to them (which isn't cheap) and then spend several hundred dollars in bench fees to "try" to repair it. It's simply not worth the risk to me at this point since they don't actually have any replacements parts on hand for the processor/board.
It's in beautiful condition physically, but it is now useless to me since it doesn't output any sound. If there is anyone else out there who has working electronics but body/structural issues and would be interested in some mint condition replacement parts, send me a PM.
It was great while it lasted but it looks like I am going back to magnetic pickups at this point. :)
