  1. It's not that I don't use my Amplifi.. I play the thing every day, in my livingroom. It is the perfect size for it. I want to expand the use, however, doing some small gigs.
  2. Being a techie and a guitar nerd, I have finally reached the point where I unscrewed the metal backplate of my Amplifi 75. Encouraged by the test I did with a Kemper profiling amp, I want to connect two external speakers (a split 4x12 cabinet) to the amplifi unit. I see some things I cannot explain: 1) The specification speak about 5 speakers ('subwoofer', 2x mid driver, 2x high driver) where the 75 only has 3. 2) The bass speaker (subwoofer?) is only 15W. 3) The unit has 3 amps, one for the 15W bass and two for the drivers at either side. What I could do is put speaker jack connectors inbetween the two driver cables, but will they provide enough power to drive 8Ohm speakers (2x16 parallel)? The specs say that it's a 75W amp, and I don't hope Line6 makes that common mistake that 75W=15W+30W+30W, leaving the driver output at 30W.
  3. Recently my FBV longboard let me down, right before the start of a gig. I have been using it for a long time connected to my POD XT PRO, even during rehearsal of the gig that afternoon. When I switched on the gear, it sounded for about 5 seconds and then went dead. This happened every time I switched on the pod. Unplugging the FBV gave me back my sound, by I could not use it anymore to switch presets. Back home, I connected the stuff again, without any difference in behavior. All lights are lit, except from the tempo, no reaction to pedal movement and no possibility to change patches or stomp boxes. After some googling I found the manual to test and recalibrate the FBV. However, the device does not react to the key combinations to flush the memory (amp1 amp2 pitchshift) nor the ones for calibrating the pedal values. The FBV seems alive but is stone dead. I tried a different UTP cable, but that did not solve it. How can I revive my FBV, or is it a big piece of bricked iron now?
  4. I recently discovered a problem with the pedals of my FBV longboard. When I connect it to my PodXTPro, after about 3 to 5 seconds the sound drops dead. When I unplug it again, the sound comes back. I tried the calibration procedure, but none of the pedal indicators (position and midi) don't change when I move one the pedals. If I unscrew the bottom and connect it then, I see some slight change. Does this mean the LED of the pedals is dead? Patrick
  5. I am thinking of building my own device to be able to use this amp on stage. It does not have a name yet, but let's call it LiveFi for the moment. The idea is that a generic floorboard is connected to it, via midi, and this sends program/control changes to the LiveFi device. In here, a list of prepared presets is loaded which can thus be recalled via the program change. Using a 'manual' mode, the various parts of the amp (stomp, amp model, delay, modulation, volume, drive, etc..) can be controlled with the controller in 'stompbox' mode. So, a preset will be a series of settings, sent to the amp. When the message format is known, it can use a bluetooth connection, or via the USB port if that is implemented later (what else should it be used for than creating and recalling presets, of course). I think this is very feasible to build it with a low-cost microcontroller, some additional hardware and a touch screen connected to it. It should be a small box, which could be mounted on a mic stand, for instance. Any thoughts/ideas on what functions it should hold?
  6. ...a variax power supply lead standard on the input jack, so I can connect one of my three variaxes without the extra power supply.
  7. I am using the Amplifi 75 now for about a month and occasionally steal my gf's ipad to control it. I don't own one myself. So, I would like to program a little app just to edit the tone, running on my macbook. Is there a list of bluetooth messages which I can use to make it? just like a midi-implementation chart that is shipped with all midi devices..
