I had helix floor for 8 years no issues with scribble strips. Helix Stadium XL however, strips are smaller and dimmer and not of much use. I play in covers bands and used the scribble strips for limited song notes (using one patch for each song). Actually, I'm finding the text screen much more useful for song notes. The only issue is that you have to set the text size each time you use it and the one setting applies to all patches. It would be more usefull if the chosen text size was saved with the patch so that when you change patches, the text size is optimised for the patch notes, saving bending down to change the text size each patch change.
