  1. Not sure why Helix has to guess. The on/off status of each block and min/max values of each assigned parameter, as they relate to dimmed vs. notdimmed, is saved when you save. When I go to assign a controller, it could just leave everything as is. Don't see why it has to undo all those statuses, forcing me to go back and reset all of them.
  2. @theElevators Thanks, I did as you said, and it works, but In some cases I have multiple bypasses and multiple parameters assigned to one footswitch. It seems silly I have to go through all of that, just to do a controller assign. Surely something is wrong here? Am I missing something?
  3. This is driving me crazy. Say I have a footswtich assigned to a few different parameters of multiple blocks. I then try to assign that same footswitch to another parameter of one of those blocks. When I turn the knob to assign the footswitch, Helix reverses the polarity of that footswitch, meaning if it's dimmed it brightens it, and vice versa. To make things worse, when it does so it doesn't even change the values of those parameters that are assigned to it. So now everything is messed up! What am I doing wrong?
  4. I have a specific preset I want to be able to quickly switch to, at any time and from any preset, then quickly switch back to the preset I was on previously. Is there a way to do that? TMDR: I use lots of different presets at a gig. My band has no vocals. For talking to the crowd, instead of dragging a PA to the gig, I want to just plug a mic into the Helix, and use a specific preset just for that, containing reverb and EQ. I need to be able to quickly switch to that preset at any time.
  5. I don't think that will do what I want. If I do that, if I play a note, I will hear the entire note dry, and mixed with that I will hear the same entire note, delayed, with reverb applied to the the entire note. So I will hear two notes, each with its own attack, which isn't what I'm looking for. Or am I missing something? What might work is to keep an entirely dry path, then add a second path that has a compressor on it which completely silences the first portion of the note. Then place the fx loop after the compressor. The only problem with this is that the dry signal (1st path) will have to be at the same level as the wet signal (2nd path), which is not what I want. After the dry attack I want 100% wet. To get around this maybe I could also put a compressor on the dry path which completely silences the the note AFTER the attack. Anyone know which compressor, if any, is best for silencing a portion of a note?
  6. I will check out the ducked delay, thanks.
  7. No, I didn't, I meant to say reverb. Sorry if I'm not being very clear, I think what I'm asking for is not possible, which probably adds to the confusion. I simply want the reverb in my effects loop to NOT be applied to the initial attack. Exactly like the predelay setting on the Helix reverbs.
  8. Hmm, not sure I understand what you're saying. It seems that will just delay the note, and the reverb will still be applied to the entire note. I want it to work like the predelays on the Helix reverbs... the reverb is applied some number of milliseconds after the onset of the note.
  9. I'm guessing there's no way to do this, but does anyone know if there's a way to apply a predelay to what's sent to the Helix effects loop? I'm using an outboard reverb unit in the loop (Surfy Bear), and would like a bit more attack articulation.
