  1. Hey all! I'm working on a rig for a customer that has the HX Stomp with a Vertex Interface on the board. Basically, Left/Right outputs are always plugged into the interface's L/R inputs that go out to the two amps/DIs. After reaching out to Vertex, using only the LEFT out of the interface sums both outputs for mono operation. I know that the Stomp itself sums stereo effects to mono when plugging into just the left output, but in this case, they're always plugged in and the summing happens at the interface. Here's the quirk: customer had a patch with an amp/cab block and legacy plate reverb. I turned off the amp/cab block because I was plugging into an amp. Using the left output of the vertex interface, I was only getting reverb with little to no dry signal. plugging into the right output on the interface had dry signal plus reverb. so I removed all blocks to test. left output on the interface has nothing and right output has dry signal. while plugged into the LEFT output, panning either direction at the output block did nothing. while plugged into the RIGHT output, panning fully left muted everything and panning fully right was dry signal back again. I have tried several settings and variations but can't seem to figure this one out after a few hours. any input to give me new perspective/something else to check out would be immensely helpful! chain is: GTR > Interface Tuner Fender Switchboard with 4 drive pedals, out to H90 stereo BigSky stereo HX Stomp stereo, back to interface Thank you! jg
  2. Nevermind! I usually run mono and was experimenting with stereo in and out. if you have the main right output plugged in (and muted at the interface/amp/mixer like I had), and you put a mono fx block in your signal path, you lose level (presumably one “side”). using stereo blocks got me back to normal level!
  3. Hey all! quick question here. 90% of the time I use an expression pedal with my stomp. I mainly use it to control my volume block. sometimes, I don't need a volume pedal so I just dont plug one in but I save my volume block setting to 100%. what's interesting is that with the volume block in the chain, even at 100% (I use the LOG setting, same results with linear), everything is quieter than simply bypassing the block. this doesn't seem right as I'd expect 100% to be unity... is this a bug perhaps? I have the latest firmware installed. Thanks for your help! jg
  4. Hey! Thank you for your response and so sorry I never checked back! I never got a notification that there was a response to this thread and assumed no one had any ideas. I'll have to double check my email settings. It seems like my client has sorted things out as I stopped hearing from him, so perhaps he found a more efficient way to program his rig. Thanks again for your time and help! I will recommend snapshots if this happens again. jg
  5. Hello! One of my clients added an HX Stomp (purchased second hand) to their rig and reports that he gets a buzzing noise that is in sync with the Tap Tempo LED. If he turns off tap tempo it goes away. The rig is powered with the Cioks DC7 and has the proper cables (it turns on and works besides the noise). Two 9v outputs are linked with a parallel DC cable to provide over 1000mA (1320mA available) as well as a 2.5mm x 5.5mm dc barrel on the pedal end. I asked him to send a video and apparently it's become an intermittent issue. Anyone else experience this or possibly have a solution? Thank you! jg
  6. Hello! I’m having a weird issue with an HX Stomp XL (3.15) I’m setting up for a client. I have the Dunlop DVP4 hooked up as an expression pedal (custom cable using TRS jacks but ring is disconnected). Global Settings have Tip set to EXP1, Ring set to EXP2. Polarity is not inverted. The Dunlop switches are set to EXP and TIP. The pedal seems to work fine however on any existing patches, assigning EXP1 to any parameters doesn’t do anything. If I assign EXP2, it works! But then on any new patches (starting from a blank patch), EXP2 doesn’t do anything. EXP1 needs to be assigned to parameters and it works fine. I’ve been going back and forth on this for a couple hours and can’t seem to figure out why the pre existing patches only work with EXP2 even though nothing is connected to the Ring (and EXP2 is assigned as Ring in the GLOBALS). Even switching Ring to FS8 doesn’t help. If I use a standard TS cable, I have to switch the Dunlop mini switch to Ring and invert polarity in globals for it to do anything but the same swap happens. Anyone have any info at all that can help me out? Thanks so much!
  7. Hello! So I have a rig with the RJM PBC6X and the HX Stomp. The HX Stomp is used strictly for effects. The RJM is used in 'setlist' mode where every preset is a section of a song, and every bank is a song. So one song will share the same HX Stomp patch of effects. The first preset/section of a song will send a PC to the HX to load a patch as well as any CC's to turn off/on the necessary blocks for that song section. Then the next section will send CC's to further turn on/off the blocks as needed. This works fine for the most part. For some reason, when loading the first preset of a song, it will send the PC and the HX patch will come up correctly but the CC's don't always hit. For example, CC4 is assigned to one reverb block, CC5 is assigned to a different reverb block, and CC8 is assigned to a trem block. Initially, the HX patch is saved with the trem block OFF but the first section of the song needs trem ON. So I send the PC for that patch as well as CC#8 Value 127 for trem ON. The patch comes up, but no trem. The next section doesn't use trem, so it sends the same PC but CC#8 Value 0 for OFF. The trem stays off. If I go back to the first section, THEN it'll activate the trem. So seemingly, the initial HX patch recall doesn't recognize the CC but subsequent recalls will. I'm wondering if not resending the PC for every section might help? Like only send the PC for the first section (with the HX blocks saved to ON for that section) and then only send CC's for the next sections? Does there need to be a WAIT command after sending the PC before it receives CC's? Been going a little coocoo with this client's setup so any help would be super helpful! thanks y'all!
