haha yea sorry no i bought it used it worked cool for me for 2 days then this loop thing yea the computer shop tested the usb connector they put in and it was working fine i they said it was running power and data fine no the unit connected fine at the start i used it for 2 days ended up doung a reset and then recalabrated the unit and this screen starts into the loop line 6s ultamate solution is send it to a diffrent counrty as there are no service center in ireland the second home of google facebook air b and b along with countless other teck and manafacturing plants lol this solution will be un economicial for me i am imageing postage along with other costs anyway thats why i was wondering about the boss units cause as much as i love the 2 days i got out of this i am not confident another will last afetr all im using a 4 year old computer to type this lol

hey guys im looking for some advice from youes. i bought a used hd500 about 2 weeks ago it worked fine for 2 days it connected to my computer fine everything was the latest software. the unit is in immaculate condition on the outside and was very well looked after by the pervious owner. i started to learn how to make patches after reading the mannual and help on this fourm. powered the unit off went to a rehersal and the unit went into thatboot up loop screen. after rehersal checked here but couldnt connect to computer to update flash. same the next morning then at lunch time at work like an idiot i ended up breaking the usb the little square middle plug ive gotten it fixed in a computer shop took it home used a diffrent computer and downloaded all the line 6 stuff again and still nothing im waiting for line 6 to get back to me but have done everything they said and unit is still stuck on reboot screen with it not being recognised so i think its fully broken anyway this is a very expensive unit to break after only 3 years my me50 is nearly 10 years old and has been kicked about on stage used and abused by my students on guitar lessons and it still works anyway my question is this i need a unit that will not break and will last a lot longer than 3 years. i live in a very remote part of ireland so cannot afford breakdowns what do you guys think i am very hesitant at paying a weeks wage on another line 6 unit when it appears the 500x has simular issues the joke is that i have already spent more on this unit than i would have buying new lol what is the boss gt100 like realiability wise how does it compare or the zoom although i had zoom befor and didnt like the sounds at all i need something after christmass for lessons and gigs in the spring any advice would be cool as i am very very hesitant about spending any more money on something that might break thanks

hey Guru your right. if it was made from steel and i could weld it then maybe i own a soldering iorn but id be afraid to completely destroy the unit :) i am giving the unit to a computer repair show to hopefully fit a new usb unit as i live on the west coast of ireland with no service centers to do any work it will cost 80euro for the work to be done and i have to drive 50 miles to get there im wondering has other people who faced this issue gotten it fixed as i havent read may people say they got their units working again after this issue and i dont want to keep spending money if the monkey thing has not worked fro others at this point i am about to CRY with frustration as i only owned the unit for 2 days before it stopped working and it was expensive for me

hey guysim wondering could someone answer or give advice i recently purchased a used hd500 i think it may be about 3 years old. it was in immacuate condition when i recived it and the sellie was a decent fella it was not a cheep unit even used and i had to sell quite a bit of stuff and do extra work to afford it. anyway i did a factory reset on it thinking i could undo the pervious owners presets but realised that it didnt work and instead i proceeded to just put blanks in where he had placed affects etc so i could build my own sounds after i did this i had to re calabrate the expression pedal which i did then powered the unit off as i was going to a rehersal when i got there and powered the unit on the logo appeared doing that loop thing so many people talk about i had a me50 to use instead and after reharsal i searched problems and soloutions to fix this i did the whole left right and down restarts but nothing i then went at lunch to try the unit through the monkey program and this is where my drama started in a rush to connect the unit as i had little time at work break i think i accidently hit the power cord into the usb and broke the center before someone starts giving out about my clumsy ness i have never before broken any electricial connection i have ever had before bar cheep chineese rubish toys as a kid anyhow my question is for the guys that have fixed theirs did it work. it will cost me 80 euros to fix a replacement from a local computer shop as i live in a remote part on the west coast of ireland service centers and that are def not an option for me so ive to try them. the money will aslo eat into my wages a bit so thats why im wondering did peoples work i have read a lot of terriable things on the fourm in the last few days that make me want to cry so some sort of good news about these actually being repairable would be nice to hear. i am also in a bind with my other problem but i i cannot get the thing to connect to the monkey thing i have appasutely no hope of ever getting a sound out of it if this was made of steel or wood i would have no problem attempting a fix myself and throwing a welder at it but i am not touhing anything with a soldering iorn :) any good news would be greatly appreciated and i willl def be making a custom housing for this unit if i can get it working ever again with a seperate lead kile the one shown earlier

hi i have this problem so sorry if its yet another i will describe what i have done what has happened so hopefully someone could please give me an answer because at this stage i am very very worried. i recently purchased a hd500 used. it was a very well kept unit with very little signs of use and worked perfect for a few days. i loaded up the monkey thing and it showed all software was up to date and everything was good. when i got used to the unit i started to make and edit patches. i had already done a factory reset to try and remove patches the previous owner had on the unit but this didnt work but i realised that i could delete his settings or rather i coud turn the affects and amps to the empty space so i could try again. when i couldnt get the expression pedal to work i recalabrated the units pedals well just the expresson pedal. after this i turned the unit off and went to play a gig. when i powered the unit up it started in the logo loop and would not boot up. this was a desaster for me and i was lucky enough to have my 10 year old Boss me50 which got me out of a stick. when i went back to the unit the next day i tried the factory reset agin a few times but nothing changed. after this i read again the thousands of entries here and tried the power off and right one the flash is saying P aswell as the one below it the CPD or what every that is also ready P i went to try and connect the power unit later in the day but i think i may have hit the usb by mistate and think this is now broked as there was one pin bent and the plastic middle part is missing so i cannot connect the unit to the computer i have tried a few diffrent computers and cannot get it to comunicate to the unit nor can i seem to be able to download the drivers for the unit even though it was working at the start of the week. i have never broken and connection to an electrial device ever before bar the cheepest of cheep chineese rubish toys i once had. i have asked a computer shop and the usb repair will be at least 80euro for the usb plug the unit malfunctioned before any damage to the unit that i may have done so i am wondering is there any point in fixing this or what have others who have had this problem done to get the unit working i have seen this topic a lot so is my unit now as i think worthless or is there a fix. if i get the usb done can i reinstall the flash memory. has this worked for others as i have not seen any soloutions or positive ends to this that much here. i have also sent in a support ticket that i dont know what the outcome will be but i will say what support say this is a really big problem for me as i live in a very remote part of ireland and i have already spent a fortune on this used which i think after reading these fourm posts for the last few days seems like a very highly priced peice unreliable unit which i deeply regret purchasing over the gt100 i could have also bought for slightly less any help would be greatly greatly appreciated and if someone has a fix that works i will give them a free surf lesson if your ever in ireland lol.
