I just got an Atomic CLR active wedge and am following the manual instructions to set the various levels, it instructs me to use the highest output preset, sound or instrument that I will use, keep the master output at 0 and adjust the input volume until the red light indicates that it is clipping, then turn it down a bit and adjust the master to taste.
I am just using it for home use, I know maybe a little overkill, but I can not get the atomic clr input to clip, even with the volume knob on the front of the hx stomp maxed out. The only way I can get it to clip is if I go to the output block on the preset and crank the output volume way up to like +10-+20db and then with the global volume on the front of the helix maxed, turn the input 1 gain on the clr up. Is this normal? And if so should I be adjusting my preset output levels to try and make the atomic clip in order to get proper gain structure? Or does it not really matter as long as it is not clipping.
Any help is much appreciated!
