  1. Ok. I am new to daw and recording so the learn function must be of reaper. Somehow, when i tried it again the learn mapping was empty so i am all good now. Thanks
  2. I actually assigned midi cc to switch and knobs from the helix native's learn function. I want to get rid of that mapping. I was not talking about the "automation/controller assign tab" where we assign switches or knobs to particular blocks. I want to unlearn for example midi cc = 25 from switch 1 permanently. So i removed the mapping from the learn function and then saved the plugin preset by going to "+" sign next to param but still when i open native the next time, the midi cc =25 is still mapped to switch 1. For me helix native is very funky and weird in this aspect. Everytime i open native i have to manually go to learn feature and remove the mapping. I use "ReaLearn" plugin for my midi mapping which is easy and stable.
  3. I am trying to unlearn the midi cc and midi cc toggle from helix native but eveytime i remove the mapping and start the helix again, the mapping is still there. I have tried saving the preset and making rhe preset default but still everytime i restart native, the mapping is already pre mapped. Cant get rid of it. Can anyone help me with this. I hope i dont have to reset the whole plugin as i have made lot of setlist and added lot of irs.
  4. Hi guys, I am a amateur guitarist and love to use bang for the buck gears. Currently, i have my pod hd500x as my audio interface and helix native as my modeler. I never used hardware helix so cant compare the sound but the sound i get from helix better than hd500x. I use the pod hd500x as a midi controller and controll native like a normal helix. Only thing i cant do is change helix preset. I can controll snapshot and bypass fx block easily. So basically i bought native for $200 from someone and now it seems like i have upgraded to helix without the hardware. I really love the sound and am enjoying playing more. Has anyone comparee the sound from native using pod as an audio interface. Does the ouput sound like a real helix? How are your experiences? Thanks
  5. I usually assign the switches and knobs to a patch in HXN and have these switches and knobs mapped to my pod footswitches. Linking directly with midi is good but then there is no option for anything else than bypass and its more easier to use switches for bypass. So i used to save in the top drop-down menu where we can save the preset. I think its the reaper preset. Saving helix preset will also save assigned automation switch or midi cc in the patch. But thats not the problem... The problem was switch and knobs mapping with my controller. Switch should be pre mapped to a controller but my footswitch would not work as the mapping was not saved after opening a new instance of hxn. But i found a great way to do this. I used realearn a free plugin to map the switches and knobs to my pod fs and pedal. Now i am using the pod as the controller with no problem at all everytime.
  6. I am using my hd500x as a midi controller to change snapshot and bypass effects. I link the particular cc# midi to switch 1 , switch 2 and so on and setup pod fs switch accordingly. It works great like a hardware unit. My problem arises when i close hxn plugin. After i open it again all the assigned midi link cc# and switch, knobs are gone and have to link them again. How can i save this information so that i can load it when i open new hxn track? I did try saving the preset in reaper but when i load the preset only the patches are loaded and not the midilink cc#.
  7. So the issue was with the cheap midi interface.. I got one for $25 at its working perfectly.. Now i just have to figure out how to map switches with native..
  8. Ok so i am using hd500x as the audio interface and use a cheap midi interface for midi in out. I have this one. https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/USB-Interface-to-MIDI-Converter-Adapter-Cable-Keyboard-Vista-MAC-Windows-7-8-10/320861225518?epid=548033619&hash=item4ab4d1c22e:g:AJMAAOSw6VRbKx9N:sc:AU_StandardDelivery!4151!AU!-1 At the same time i am also using pod as the midi controller. Pod can send midi messages and notes which can be toggled pressing the "VIEW" buttom. So with hd500x as an audio interface, the chinese midi interface dont work at all. I am using a win 10 laptop. But when i dont use hd500x as an audio interface( plug out pods usb from laptop), then the chinese midi interface starts to work but i can only send "note on" midi message, it will not work when i send any other midi message like "cc,cc toggle, program change ". Even then i can only send few range of notes which ranges from note A5 and above. For example : fs1=A5, fs2 = B5 , fs3= C5 ..... fs8= A6... if i set any of the footswitches to say note on value of C4 it will not work. I am hoping if i buy a better midi interface then i can simultaneously use the pod as an audio interface and midi controller in the same laptop. If some one has used it liked this than i would go forward and buy an expensive midi interface.
  9. So the cheap chinese midi interface is midi compliant and the driver are installed automatically. So i was thinking may be there is something wrong with my hd500 midi ouput . I use the pod as my audio interface. When i plugged out my hd500 usb, it seems the i can use the pod to play notes form A5 to C8 or something. But if i plug the hd500x usb then the midi input doesnt work at all. So atleast i know that pods midi is working. When i dont connect the pod usb, i can play notes with this midi interface but still cant use the cc# or any other midi message except the notes. So i am sure this is all caused by the cheap midi interface. If i set the fs switch to play c4 it doesnt work at all. So these cheap midi can only play certain range of notes. I used midi monitor to check all these things. The output from the midi interface work alright as i can change patches from the daw. The problem is with the input. I guess i will have to invest in a good but cheap midi interface. I just have doubt if i can use the pod hd as an audio interface simultaneously with a good midi interface. I hope it works. If anyone can suggest me a cheap midi interface which actually works, please let me know. Thanks.
  10. So i am trying to control helix native by my pod hd footswitches. I have looked into tons of videos but can seem to make it work. I am using a very cheap chinese midi interface bought for $7. So i take a empty patch and then in settings change from abcd to 1234 to use all the footswitches. I set different cc values for all the fs but cant seem to make it work. I did try a midi monitoring software and when i click a footswitch it doesnt show anything. I just says 90 00 00. Is there any step i have missed to make ito work?
  11. I have just recently tried to make a small home studio with hd500x as my central piece for audio processing and i got into lot of issue with windows 10. Constant bsod with reaper and sometimes freezing like u have. So i fixed all those issue by keeping my laptop at high performance instead of power saver or balanced. Today again, i started having the same issue. Turns out the issue was caused again by enabling my laptop mic for recording. I remembered i had enabled my laptop mic for some skype. So i disabled the laptop mic and also disbaled my speaker for playback. So make sure you have disabled all other audio speaker and mic when u use hd500x with your daw. Also make sure to use pod asio and uninstall asio4all if u have it. I was almost about to get a ur22 audio interface coz its black friday and i can get it for lot cheaper. But i am glad i found the root issue and i didnt have to buy another audio interface. Also i use 256 buffer size. No latency whatsoever. Hope this helps.
  12. So I am using my hd500x with helix native. I use Pod with an empty patch and then tweak the patches in helix native in Reaper. I am really satisfied with the sound and have made a few patches. Now, I am trying to use pod as a midi controller to change patches or change snapshot in the native. I am also trying to use the expression pedal if its possible. Or may be use the pod switches in native like i use the switches in the pod. So I am trying to find out if this is possible. I did some research but most people use this function when they have another audio interface. In my case, I am using the pod as the audio interface and now I want to use it as a midi controller at the same time. Please give me advice if anyone has done this. Thanks
  13. Thanks, so using reaper and pod driver with 256 buffer size and high performance on battery and its going stable for now. Using helix native and no lag with really great sound. No crashes. Is there anyway we can ampify the direct sound from pod hd without turning the amp on hd. I want to use hd as audio interface but normally in other audio interface you can control the direct volume of the guitar. Cant find any option to do that with hd500x.
  14. I have just downloaded helix native trial and i am using hd500x as an audio interface. So when i try to use the plugin in pro tools and reaper, i get lag, clippings and bsod in windows 10. I have tried both asiohd500x and asio4all and i get bsod. I am using a alienware15 r2 which has no usb 2.0. So when i turn aeroplane modez the daw works for more time. I really liked the helix native. Gave really good sound with ir impluse loaded on different plugin. I use direct sound from my dk2 dinky plugged to hd500x amp disabled and output with krk g3 5 . Also if i use 512 buffer than sound comes good from helix native but there is some slight ms of latency that i can tell.with 256 buffer there is no latnecy but sound is clipping and mute sometimes. Really bad experience. Do you guys think i should buy a audio interface like ur22 mkII. Any advice guys. Thanks
