This unit is beyond the warranty period, but I would like to fix it. I have worked on electronic gear since the 90's.
I have a G50 TBP12 transmitter on the bench. It works fine for a while and then it goes into a condition where the blue Batt light turns red and the Audio light turns red. The power switch will not shut the unit off at that point. You have to open the battery door to shut the unit down.
I opened it up and found some corrosion on both sides of the main circuit board. Cleaning off the corrosion did not do any good. The corrosion was not from battery leakage. Not sure what is was from. I have owned the unit since it was new. I bought a second new G50 transmitter on ebay to keep me going and that unit works fine with the receiver. Check out my image of the area where I found the corrosion.
I created a support ticket at Line 6 to see if I could buy a replacement main circuit board.
Anyone ever see this happen to a G50 before?
