Hey everyone
Looking at swapping my trusty M9 (which I mainly only use for Delays and Reverbs these days) for the new DL4 Mk II. Going through the manual however I have an issue and wanted to know how others have managed with this or if it's something Line 6 could add in a firmware update. Seems like a massive oversight to me.
Wanting to use all 6 presets, and utilising the two external foot switches I was hoping to use:
- Tap: One Button Looper
- FS 5: DEF Select
- FS 6: Squeal
I've noticed though that for some reason DEF select isn't available via the external foot switches. What's more the only indicator of what bank you're in is the Tap switch going between dim and bright yellow (and I know a few people have complained about this in another post). The LED indicators for the One Button Looper seem really important so I don't understand why Line 6 would rob us of that LED feedback by limiting the DEF select to the Tap switch. What's more would it not make sense to change the full colour for different banks (as someone suggested in another post, like green and blue) but also the individual patch LED colour as well, or maybe light up the top halves for ABC, and the lower halves for DEF. Something so that it's clearer which bank you're using.
Don't appear to be able to swap banks via MIDI either (can someone please confirm?). I know you can select presets via MIDI but a command that'd alternate between ABC and DEF would be nice, and would work as a solution to it not being an external foot switch option. Anyone else find this problematic? How do you all manage if you're after a similar setup to mine? Maybe the one button looper is easy enough to use without the LED indicator feedback?
For those wondering about tap, I don't have a complex MIDI setup, but I do have a single MIDI tap-tempo FS that sends to all my pedals, so don't need it on the DL4 directly. Although I hear the looper doesn't respond to MIDI clock (not a deal breaker for me as I use it for freeze effects, but still a little frustrating)
Cheers
