  2. i solved it and i have edited my first post so anyone with the same problem can solve it right away. thanks for all yor help!
  3. hey, sadly it is not solved. the helix is now twice in the sound settings. one is called "HELIX Audio" and the other one "Line 6 Helix LT". does anyone know why the helix is displayed twice now? also the one called "Line 6 Helix LT" offers me a volume control (which is good) but somehow this driver only worked once and now no more. the other one called "HELIX Audio" does not offer me a volume control which is a bit annoing because every website etc. that has sound can start blasting at full volume. how can i solve this whole issue? do you guys have a volume control (besides of the physical one on the device itself, of course)? and how is the device called on your mac? helix audio or line 6 helix lt? thank you very much!!
  4. i am not new to google ;) i searched it but how do i locate the helix driver? there is no file that has "line6" or "helix" in the name. where can i find the driver file?
  5. thanks! do you know how i can uninstall it?
  6. hi, i am on a mac and my problem is that the helix somehow is listed twice in the audio settings and sadly the mac sometimes chooses the "wrong" one. it is listed as "helix audio" and as "line6 helix lt". it is relly weird and causes some problems because one of these two does not work properly. this is a completely new mac and i have only one driver installed... i have no clue why it is this way. how can i fix this? i assume somehow deinstalling the driver and reinstalling would be appropriate? or maybe i can somehow delete the "wrong" one that does not work properly? thank you for tips on how i can solve it! ----> Update: Here is the Answer: for anyone who has the same problem: 1) mac os possibly blocks the driver. go to your mac system preferences -> security there should be a button to allow the driver. more on this here: https://line6.com/support/page/kb/recording/computer-audio-set-up-and-troubleshooting/macos-high-sierra-1013mojave-1014-driver-installation-change-r879/ 2) when you start your mac and the helix (lt) at the same time it can happen that the driver will not work. in this case power off the helix off and power on again.
  7. thanks. i have no idea what happened but it suddenly appeared now.
  8. yes. it is selected as the output device and the sound is going into (and out of) the helix properly. in Control Panel; Sound; Output -> it says "the chosen device has no volume control". (or something similiar; i have translated this from my language to english). i start to think it is normal like that but i want to be sure. having the volume control would be great. and on my previous mac i had the volume control with the same driver, same helix. only the macmini and the mac os are new.
  9. hey, on my previous mac mini from 2014 with the older osx i had a normal volume control in the menu bar. this was quite good, because i do not want to have every youtube video and so on playing at 100% by default as they can be extremely loud. now with my new mac mini 2018 and the same helix driver there is no volume control available anymore now. is that normal? can i change this? how is it for you? do you have volume control on max os mojave with helix? thank you! --------------> Answer: <-------------- for anyone who has the same problem: 1) mac os possibly blocks the driver. go to your mac system preferences -> security there should be a button to allow the driver. more on this here: https://line6.com/support/page/kb/recording/computer-audio-set-up-and-troubleshooting/macos-high-sierra-1013mojave-1014-driver-installation-change-r879/ 2) when you start your mac and the helix (lt) at the same time it can happen that the driver will not work. in this case power off the helix off and power on again.
  10. hey, How do i save the Variax Settings (Guitar, Tuning, Pickup etc.) with a Helix Tone Preset? as far as i know this is possible. what i want is that all the variax settings are automatically loaded when i load the helix tone preset (amp etc.) thank you!
  11. hey, i am slightly confused because i can not directly set sampe rate and bit depth with the driver settings on mac. which settings are used then? if i want to record in a certain sample rate/bit depth in reaper how can i achieve this properly? another question: my whole sytem is hooked to the helix. so when i listen on spotify or watch on netflix etc. it all goes through the heilx into my adam monitors. should i set some special settings for this to achieve best quality? thank you!
  12. thank you! very well explained. good to know that the signal splits and it is like using two cabinets beside each other. now that i know that i can tweak the second cab as well... i only tweaked the first one so far.
  13. hey! i am a bit confused about that second line in the chain. before and after "cab" it goes down into the second line... can anyone explain this further to me? also why is there a second "cab" field currently activated in this line? do i run through 2 cabs now? probably not the best idea right? (i created this sound from a preset nd it was like that from the beginning) and one more question: why can't i use all the fx in the second line? many are not available there... thank you!
  14. thank you guys! the impedance matching transformer sounds like a nice solution. :)
  15. hey, can i use the guitar input with a dynamic mic on helix lt? there are cables that would open up this opportunity. will this result in worse quality compared with the xlr input on normal helix (non LT) ? or are these inputs basically identical aside from the xlr/line jack? or are there some kind of impedancy differences or does the normal helix have some integrated mic preamp that boosts the signal? would really be interesting to know more about this subject. thank you very much!
  16. hey! is there an option to activate a guitar tuner within the workbench hd? i did not find it yet. back in the days with xt live there was one and i am considering to move the helix to a place which can not be reached by foot so it would be nice. if there is no option could you recommend me some other little program or vst or something like that which could do the job perfectly and precise? thank you!
  17. thank you! it is not that bad to use it like that and i have no idea scale account. another even better idea would be to change the export option to just always save it with current settings which would be standard behaviour anyways and work a lot better. there really is no logic explanation for the current export behaviour because no one needs to save "the old version" as it is already saved anyway. if you could maybe suggest that to the guys. or if someone from line6 reads this... consider this improvement. thank you!
  18. hey, i have the following problem. usually when i built a new tone i start from one of my existing tones. now when the new tone is nice i want to save it with new name but keep the original tone. if i click export then the original tone will be exported. the only workaround i found so far is copy/paste the tone to a different preset spot, then save, then rename the new one. is there an easier way? thank you!
