  1. Ive gone thru and looked for something like Hoof a while ago, not sure since several updates. And idk about talons. anyone know anything in there that can get pretty close to either of these? Thoguht Id ask first to maybe save some time.
  2. Ive been hearing people say these wont work for this type of noise. Did you have noise like mine? And yeah, Ive got about 14 usb cables in the mix. Fortunately only 2 of them do this and only when the helix is on.
  3. Also, when usb is plugged in theres nothing I can mute and nowhere to place a notch filter to eliminate it. Not on the master channel of the interface mixer or anywhere else. Id have to put a physical filter on my studio monitors.
  4. Ive heard quite a few ppl say they get the same thing. Its far worse when usb is connected to my computer and strange enough, even when the USB port button is turned off, it makes no change in the sound, I have to unplug it. When unplugged its still there but much more faint. Steady 8k tone ringing. Its some kind of interference. If I put an 8k notch eq at the end of the chain in helix it does nothing. I have to put that filter on the other end of the cables, in my interface's mixing software. But, again, when usb is plugged in, that makes little difference because its picked up by the usb cable. Ive got a good usb cable with a ferrite on it. Idk if its the right one, I guess they have different freqs they can target? Ive tried all my cables. Im about to sell my helix because after way too long putting up with this, trying to solve it. Any help appreciated.
  5. I have the same problem. It really sucks. I have several dirt pedals which sound completely terrible in the fx loops. The fx loops were a big reason I upgraded from the stomp. Did the OP ever resolve this?
  6. Im talking about putting the fx loops in front of the amp. you can place their blocks wherever needed, obviously. Whats getting me is that placing an fx loop block at the very beginning of the chain doesnt sound the same as running the pedal before the helix.
  7. So Im running a few dirt pedals in the fx loops and finding they sound significantly different tonally and are super loud. To the latter, seems maybe the fx loops are unity at 50%? but then its letting thru 50% of unprocessed signal right? sounds like it. But yeah I know my dirt pedals and they simply dont sound right and are far too loud. I can tell if theyre slightly phase-y or have some strange mid freq thing happening. I pop them out and bypass the helix or run them in front and boom- sound like I know them to sound like. Ive heard a number of ppl who agree they have the same issue. I cant see anything to adjust to fix this but I thought Id ask and ask if more ppl are experiencing this. I know its easy to get lost down the tweaking rabbit hole but Im def not imagining this and it suck because running my pedals in the loops was a big selling point and crucial to my tone. ok now tell me Im crazy and just imagining this lol
