  1. Thanks for the reply - I knew that was probably an option to set the vol block in the preset at zero and save, but ultimately I would want the volume block to act as a volume pedal would on a analog rig - so off is off. My other expression pedals for effects would be per preset. Like I said, it was pretty embarrassing in a quiet, intimate section of the set to have the volume pedal down thinking I was going to be nice and silent, switch a preset and get a blast on noise from the volume block being up full blast.
  2. Actually, right after I posted the above I found there is a global expression pedal position setting - would this be what I am looking for? So if I have the pedal off and switch presets it stays in the off position?
  3. I've been trying to find if there is a global setting or something so that when you switch presets the volume block automatically adjusts to when your expression pedal is set. I had an issue where it was at a quiet portion of my band's set and I had the volume/expression pedal down, but when I switched presets the volume block defaulted to full on, independent of the pedal position, and all the sudden I had this burst of noise (embarrassing.) Does such a setting exist in the Helix?
  4. On a Vai/Van Halen kick lately - love the sounds of the Roland SDE3000 - was curious if anyone has tried to dial in that sound and which delay models you used? I would think maybe the Vintage Digital could be a candidate (though I don't like the glitchy sound if you don't max the headroom.)
  5. I had a Helix for about 9+ months, and have noticed that the plastic over the scribble strips is REALLY soft - I installed my own screen protectors as I was noticing how easily it would scratch, but as you can see to the right of the protector on the top set of strips where just wiping with a cloth totally scuffed it up. Also on the bottom set a small ruler fell of my workbench and left a hole - see arrows below. My question is - I know it shipped with a protective film (I still have that on the main screen and the wah strip,) but I removed that from the scribbles. Is the remaining surface another protective film or is that the actual surface? I don't want to try and peel something off that is supposed to be permanent, but it seems really soft and scratches so easily.
  6. So I am officially making the jump from a massive, all individual pedal board to the Helix Floor - most of my units I have found equivalents to, with exception of my TC Electronics Stereo Chorus/Flanger (SCF.) I run mine stereo in the amp effects loop and it creates that classic Eric Johnson/late 80's Alex Lifeson/John Petrucci chorus sound. While I know I could run it in a pair of effects loops, it would be slightly problematic as it is a mono in/stereo out pedal, so it could be limiting in terms of where to place in a stereo path. Also, it would be a bit of a hassle to transport with all the extra connections. Is there an existing chorus model in the Helix and/or settings will get me closest to the SCF?
