  1. Thanks! The HP/LP on the cab worked great, just gonna see if I can assign it to an expression pedal to get that swell effect. Keeping my FX blocks to a minimum too which is great for the Stomp.
  2. Hi guys, Got an HX stomp a little bit ago and I've been getting into more modern metalcore recently so I've been checking out some video tutorials and whatnot to learn how to dial in a good sound (I'm more used to playing hard rock like Muse etc so the desired tones are quite different) Had some success recently in getting a decent amp sound using the Badonk with an 808, but now I'm looking to accomplish this sort of lo-fi effect you hear a lot in metalcore: I thought the megaphone would be ideal but it seems more tailored to vocals so it adds a lot of distortion as well, which sounds godawful with my amp. I tried to replicate the effect as in the video, but even using the high/low shelf EQ I was only able to reduce the highs and lows to -12dB, which kind of gets the desired effect but nowhere near as severely, if that makes sense. I guess I'm looking for a way to 100% cut out all the frequencies above and below a certain pitch, just wondering if there's a way to do this in Helix that I'm missing... All the EQ blocks seem to offer either a simple cut at a specified frequency, or not enough of a reduction in volume. I did try searching for other info on this topic but most of the threads I was finding were just referring to EQ cuts on the cab to fit a room better etc. and not this deliberate effect. Cheers!
