Cross-platform UI for POD 2.0
liet_ replied to liet_'s topic in POD 2.0, POD XT, Pocket POD, FloorPODs
Dear friends, Anyone that has tried to use pod-ui v1.5.0 on Apple Silicon (or without drivers on Windows) should check out version 1.5.1, which fixed a nasty bug in the USB code that randomly crashes the application (especially noticeable on Apple Silicon). -
POD XT Live Power Supply
liet_ replied to scottastic86's topic in POD 2.0, POD XT, Pocket POD, FloorPODs
Hi @scottastic86, I've seen this question before. For example, in this thread. I think any off-brand adapter with adequate plug and current of 1200mA or higher will do. At least, that's what I will be looking for once my POD adapters die. -
POD Floor Plus power suply
liet_ replied to Philipr794's topic in POD 2.0, POD XT, Pocket POD, FloorPODs
Nope. You will need a 9V AC power supply, PX-2g. See: I don't know, if you really need a 2000mA version. That chart lists both POD 2.0 and PODxt in the same, but my POD 2.0 has a 1500mA power supply. -

Dear friends, It's been almost a year since the last release of pod-ui. Today v1.5.0 is released, which has a bunch of fixes for macOS users and -more importantly- support for talking with the PODxt devices over plain USB without the need for Line6 drivers. This will be especially useful for Apple Silicon users, where Line6 drivers for legacy hardware are not available at all. Windows users can also forego installing official Line6 drivers, but they will need a generic USB drivers - please see the v1.5.0 release page and the dedicated pod-ui libusb page. Keep on rockin'! -
There's also pod-ui ;)

POD 2.0 Amps 17- 32 question
liet_ replied to Beatlefreek's topic in POD 2.0, POD XT, Pocket POD, FloorPODs
@Beatlefreek They are not "additional amps". There are 36 banks: 1A,1B,1C,1D,2A,2B...9C,9D. Banks hold presets. Any bank can have a preset, which selects one of the amps. When you choose a bank and an amp gets selected, you can now turn the "amp models" knob to select a different amp. When you turn the "amp models" knob without pressing "tap" at the same time, you select one of the 1-16 amps with the name written around the knob, such as #1 "Line 6 Clean", #2 "Line 6 Cruch", ..., #15 "Fuzz Box" or #16 "Tube Preamp". Now, if you press and hold the "tap" button and select #1 "Line 6 Clean", you're really selecting #17 "Line 6 Twang". In fact, the chart above for amps 17-32 reads as #17 "(Line 6 Clean) Line 6 Twang" and #32 "(Tube Preamp) Jazz Clean". This means that if you want to select #17 "Line 6 Twang", you press and hold the "tap" button and select "Line 6 Clean" on the "amp models" knob. For #32 "Jazz Clean" you press and hold the "tap" button and select "Tube Preamp" -

Hi @gbline62016, My apologies, I've not been on this forum in quite a while ;) The answer to your question is "yes!" ;) The sysex format of Alesis SR-16 is documented: https://manualzz.com/doc/23358749/alesis-sr-16-midi-system-exclusive-format and there is even an editor for Windows: http://www.namesoft.biz/sr16editor/ -
The software you're looking for is SoundDriver 3.0. If you get a hold of it, you may need to run it in an older system virtual machine -- the last release was in 2002, it would work in a Windows 7 VM. It supports Bass POD. I started on Bass POD support in pod-ui, but the patch format seems quite different between Bass POD and the other PODs, I didn't have much incentive to work on it. -A

pocketPOD and MIDI Program Change?
liet_ replied to jlg05's topic in POD 2.0, POD XT, Pocket POD, FloorPODs
Yes, PocketPOD supports PC messages, but that will only switch the presets in the user banks. The way I understand it, is that the "browse by band" and "browse by style" sets are read-only. You can't switch to them using PC messages and the POD won't send PC messages when you're browsing those categories. I'm not sure about the lists. The "Vyzex Pocket POD" software comes with the style / band / pocket pod factory sets, which you can at least load to the editor, but it is laid out rather confusingly, since it doesn't show the toplevel categories (band names / style names), just the preset names. -
@vieiraspm Hi again. You got me interested in M-Vave Chocolate and I ordered myself Chocolate + MS1 device combo. The post came today and I had to try them out. I am pleasantly surprised, but it turns out, it IS possible to connect Chocolate to PocketPOD using MS1's MIDI "B" module. Right off the bat Chocolate and MIDI "B" connect, but nothing happens when I press buttons on the chocolate. I had to get the M-Vave CubeSuite software to connect to the MIDI "B" and put it in the "HOST ONLY MODE" (it was in OTG mode by default). After that, when I closed the app and Chocolate connected to MIDI "B" again, the buttons on the Chocolate device switched things on the PocketPOD.

Bass POD XT Live connectivity and software
liet_ replied to B-Lock-Aye's topic in Bass POD / Bass PODxt
@dylangee Please try pod-ui, https://github.com/arteme/pod-ui, if that doesn't find your device either, it could be a drivers/hardware issue. -
Hi, A PocketPOD is not a stand-alone MIDI device. It doesn't have any MIDI in/out ports of its own. It has a USB port, that when connected to a PC (Windows, mac, Linux) given the right drivers, will create a MIDI port for it. I'm not sure how you're supposed to connect a foot pedal to a Pocket POD in this set-up. If you were to connect a foot pedal and a pocket pod to a laptop, you could potentially cross-connect them in MIDI land somehow, but you may need to do some MIDI mapping. There's a Line6 MIDI controls reference here: https://line6.com/data/l/0a06000f1344c45ecbcd6e0293/application/pdf/MIDI Continuous Controller Reference , but it doesn't mention the PocketPOD even though it is not far off a POD 2.0 device with a bunch of controls removed. Good luck in your endeavour!

Cross-platform UI for POD 2.0
liet_ replied to liet_'s topic in POD 2.0, POD XT, Pocket POD, FloorPODs
Happy New Year, dear pod-ui users, It's been a while since the last release, which means that it is time for a new one. I present to you v1.4.0, which comes with a few minor improvements and fixes. First off, proper macOS integration finally means that the "Quit" menu items (both application menu and dock) actually close the app. Second, tempo controls added for PODxt and Bass PODxt devices. Finally, the Linux build was broken in v1.3.0 and is now fixed. Please head over to the releases page to download the fresh release. I am also proud to say that L6T reading and writing work has been proceeding nicely and a version with patch loading is not very far away.... Cheers! -

Dear friends, It's been a while! Today I'm proud to announce version 1.3.0 with POD 1.0 and Bass PODxt family support. As usual, there are bug-fixes that are especially interesting for the PODxt people. Keep on rockin'! -

Hello, Bass PODxt folk! Today I'm proud to announce Bass PODxt family (Bass PODxt, Bass PODxt Live, Bass PODxt Pro) support in pod-ui latest version, v1.3.0, which you can download from the releases page. Pod-ui is a modern cross-platform UI for controlling POD devices. It gives you a simple UI to tweak all your POD knobs and toggles. Ultimately, I would like to be able to load presets from files (.L6T, .LIB) to have feature parity with Line6 Edit, but there's still a lot of work to do to achieve that. I have a bunch of PODs myself (POD 2.0, PODxt, Pocket POD), but not a single Bass PODxt, so the support is based on my experience with PODxt and cross-operation with Line6 Edit. For this reason, Bass PODxt support is marked as experimental. Please give it a spin and report any errors. Sincerely, liet_
