Hi, I am trying to profile my Fender Rumble V3 500 Amp head to use as a Amp/Cabinet selection in my HX Stomp. I run this for bass guitar, which can be a J bass or P bass depending on the song. I am new to effects and modeling so I need some help and understanding on how to do this. The main reason I am asking this is when I play live, I run my Fender Rumble V3 Head direct and My Stomp direct. I use a Radial big shot ABY to separate the two signals. This allows me to send FOH a clean signal and also a dirty signal from the stomp which I use for grit/distortion. There is no issue doing it this way, however I would like to make use of the stomp more fully. What happens is I don't want to have a lot of hardware on the floor. Even though the Fender is small, If I could only use the stomp, that would be ideal. I have played with all the cab and sims on the stomp and none of them really give me that beautiful sound I get from the Rumble with the "vintage" filter used. I am sure it can be done with the stomp. What I am finding difficult is the loss of the low end when I use dirt, overdrive, etc. I know this is common but even running parallel within the stomp, with a crossover, I still cannot get that sound. I have tried multiple eq's and you name it. I guess the bottom line is I don't know how to begin replicating the sound of the Rumble, that's what it boils down to. Do I need to find out what frequencies are boosted cut on the Amp, then find an eq in the stomp and boost and cut to taste from there? What I realize is this can be very subjective so I need to be careful how I word this. My Goal would be to only use the Stomp. I need a big fat tone and I need overdrive as well. I can use snapshots to bring the overdrive in and out but first I need that vintage tone I get out of the Rumble. For example the B15 is what I expect would get me close, it doesn't. Does anyone have any advise or constructive criticism? I have no issues getting distortion and overdriven sounds from the stomp. I struggle to get nice punchy clean tones. The purpose of this is to mainly use for Church gigs where the musical styles vary greatly. For a set I could play straight ahead pop to gospel to overdriven rock to contemporary. I must have flexibility. Usually I can do everything with 2 or 3 sounds. Thanks for taking the time to read this!!
