You've answered my questions. So I ordered a latching footswitch and I now need to decide to get the HD500 or think about getting a Helix. I am getting into home recording quite a bit using Reaper direct in from a little SpiderV which is quite fun but semi limiting. However I'm not trying to be a rock star, just doing it for fun with my best friend/drummer. I dont want to overwhelm myself with new recording software and Helix all at once. Something I'll do more research on. Thanks for answering my question!

I am very new to the Line 6 community and I'm very much confused on how to control the DT50 with a control board. In my haste and without research I just ordered a footswitch. I bought a "Helix control" foot board not knowing anything about Helix or really the unit I bought. It just looked like a footswitch to me. I'm uncertain if it will work with the DT50 or not or how it would even connect to it. Resources on this are difficult to find in specificity. The DT50 has MIDI ins and outs but the control board only has printer USB style input/output and what appears to be RJ 45 or crossover, which the DT50 does not have. If this footswitch doesnt work with the DT%0, what should I buy then? Im not always an idiot, I promise. I'm generally tech savvy as Im a software engineer trying new thing in the music world.
