  1. The Snapshot will not save until you force the save which is either on the floorboard (View & Action buttons pressed simultaneously then clicking the button under the green Save icon (actually to the bottom/right of Save icon) or on the Software by clicking File>Save Preset. This allows you to mess up when making changes and get back to your last save. From your post it appears you are expecting it to save once you change snapshots but I could be misinterpreting? Otherwise, If you are editing on the floorboard is the parameter you are changing set to change with each Snapshot? On the PC I know you can set the controller for say the reverb mix to be editable for snapshots. If it is not set to editable (by clicking and selecting Snapshots) then any change to that parameter will be the default for all 4 Snapshots. I am not sure how to enable the Sanpshot Parameter controller on the Floorboard as I only use the PC for editing. Just taking guesses at what might be the problem. Hopefully it's something you can get straightened out easily.
  2. I too would prefer the first row to be the ABCD buttons, that is how the Kemper floorboard (Remote) is setup and I find that more user friendly but I am looking for something more easily portable. I can see why the layout is setup on the POD-GO the way they have it. If the bank buttons were both on the 2nd row I don't think it would be game changer for people but having the TAP button on the first row is something I think is a requirement IMO. I was thinking maybe the the Behringer FCB1010 would get you there but I don't think it would connect with the POD Go as the FCB1010 only looks to have Midi connections (no USB) and the POD GO only has a USB connection which I do not think is setup for a fully functional Midi in connection. Of course adding a pedalboard the size of the FCB1010 sort of defeats the purpose of having a grab and go unit like the POD Go. Honestly, in a more perfect world for me the POD-Go would be about 6 inches wider with 5 buttons on the bottom row (ABCD and TAP) with the other buttons on the 2nd row and a larger LCD screen. Add in a little more DSP power so maybe the pitch shifter would be usable for dropping tuning and maybe a couple more FX block then I would be willing to pay a decent chunk more. I do not recommend the FS-6 for the reason you list (need for a battery to operate) and I could not get the FS-7 to function properly. From my experience the FS-7 takes 3 presses on the same button to change directions but then will advance again with only 1 button press... until you want to change directions again which would require 3 more presses on the other button. Unusable to me. Dual FS-5U's have worked well but it seems easy for the polarity switch(es) to get jostled, which I found out last night at practice, throwing everything out of whack. This was fairly easy to fix but I will have to get everything labelled better and maybe fix the position of the polarity switches if I can. Everything has to be hooked up precisely and the polarity switches in the correct position to work properly. Otherwise strange things happen.
  3. I don't think this a feature but figured I would ask. Any way to always have Snapshot 1 as the default when saving, no matter what snapshot is currently selected when saving? If this is not a feature it would be nice to have. Maybe even on a patch by patch basis as well as being able to select globally. I fully appreciate the versatility of being able to select a Snapshot other than the first as the default but for those of us that that do not need that versatility it would be a nice option to have. Software can do a much better job than I ever could of making sure I always have Snapshot 1 set as the default.

So I ended up getting to keep the FS-7 but could not get it to work correctly. Tried both polarity positions, plugged in with a AC Adapter, without the AC adapter and every setting I could think to adjust on the POD Go. End result for everything I tried seems to be it takes 3 presses to change the direction of the snapshot. Once you get it to change the Snapshot number the first time then subsequent presses of the same button will keep moving the snapshot but if you want to change directions you need to press the other button 3 times to change the first time and once more for every change thereafter. Unusable in that state for me. I am going to have to decide between the single pedal FS-5U and dual pedal FS-6. I think the FS-5U is going to win out due to the need for a battery on the FS-6. Already had a few hours last night where I forgot to disconnect it so it was sucking on the battery for a few hours. At home I could easily see that happening overnight.
  5. I can't tell exactly from the original post but it sounds like maybe you are ready for a mixer with Channel Inserts. I plug everything into the mixer - 2 outs from the audio interface - stereo outs from Guitar rig(s) - microphone - keyboards, other audio playback device (mp3 player or similar) etc. On the audio interface I have 4 inputs with the Main Outs of the mixer plug into inputs 1/2 of the Audio interface. On the mixer channels for the guitar rig I am using I have a cable inserted to the first click (not all the way in) in the Inserts of those channels going to inputs 3/4 on the Audio Interface. When recording I usually listen through headphones plugged into the mixer . To record everything Live (guitar, mic, backing tracks) then I select the Main Inputs 1/2 (connected to main outs of mixer) of the audio interface as my recording device in my DAW. To only record guitar, while playing and singing along to other recorded music (backing tracks, midi etc.), then I would select the Inputs 3/4 (connected to the channel inserts of the guitar channels on the mixer) as my recording device in the DAW. When I want to record vocals I pan everything else hard right and the vocals hard left then select the left input, in this case Input 1, of the audio interface as my recording device. As I said I usually listen through headphones plugged into the mixer but I do have the option to push everything through my studio monitors by pressing a button labelled 'Mon' on the front of the audio interface. I use this occasionally when working on something like a guitar solo but caution that it is very sensitive and can overpower the studio monitors and/or headphones in the mixer. I strongly caution anyone using this feature to turn down the volume on the Studio monitors and headphones all the way and very gently work their way up in volume. Once it hits the feedback point it is a very strong signal going to the monitors and headphones. One could easily damage their ears let alone their equipment.
  6. Just tested it and that works.
  7. I found this out just earlier this week. Made a few new patches for practice that I was trying to use a boost pedal with. It didn't work quite as I expected so when I went to pack for practice I did not take the boost pedal. Then when I setup for practice I got no sound from the new patches and was stumped for a bit and starting to annoy, rightfully so, my bandmates. I switched to old patches for that night's practice and stumbled across the solution during a break late in the session. Thankfully it happened at a practice rather than a gig. I wonder, if in a pinch you forget your pedal and are at a gig could you solve the no sound issue with 1 instrument cable simply plugged into the send and return of the effects loop?

I didn't have a TRS to TRS cable here at home, left it at the practice spot, so hooked up the FS-6 via a TRS Male to dual Mono Female connectors using regular instrument cable. Worked well once I got the polarity switches set correctly but then of course I would need to keep stocked on batteries, get a battery tester and would have to remember to unplug it when at home or else risk draining the battery unnecessarily. I could probably fool the drummer into being my battery tester using his tongue 15 or 72 times but eventually he might get wise to it and not be my tester anymore. This led me to trying the single FS-5U hooked up to one of the 1/4" Mono Female connectors. It didn't work at first but then started working once I switched the polarity switch to the left (as you are looking down on the FS-5U). I had some brief moments where it was acting funny after switching polarities a couple of times to test the differences but I rebooted the POD Go (after setting the polarity switch to the left) and now it works like I expect. As long as I don't breath on it or accidently toggle the polarity I think it will work. Just need to label which female connector is the correct one to attach it to... which turns out to be (just) the Tip female connector not the Ring.... there is a good joke in there somewhere. I may just stick with the 1 x FS-5U to avoid the battery issue and because I like the idea of always only needing to hit 1 pedal, with the pedal always in the exact same location, to advance to the next setting (snapshot) I need. That is how I was doing it with my Kemper and it worked well for me. Now if I can just get used to the toe press Wah which I need a lot of practice on. With the Kemper I have a bunch of options for when the Wah will disengage and I found the bypass at heel worked best for me. Now that the Up/Down toggle pedals on the POD Go are working like I expect (always switch banks rather than sometimes jumping to snapshots) I found I can also get back to the original snapshot of any patch by pressing the button of the same patch I am already on. That could be useful if I have a song where I need to quickly go from the 2nd or 3rd snapshot back to the original.

I don't see a FS-6U available only the FS-6 which I am sad to report DOES require batteries to operate. I'm a bit bummed about that one but will suffer through until it becomes an issue (hopefully at a practice rather than a gig). I had ordered the FS-7 through Amazon, which was my understanding that it does not require a battery but please don't quote me on that or take it as gospel I really don't know, but Amazon was very late on delivery. I cancelled the purchase but they delivered it anyways and I had to go through a whole process to get them to take it back. I can see myself switching to another pedal or pedals in the not so distant future. The need for a battery is a real killer for me. I'm with you. I like the bigger pedals, separation and weight. I have size 12's and am singing while playing which makes it challenging hitting the right button at times. I want to be engaged with my singing/guitar playing not searching for which pedal to press.

Not sure that is available in the USA. I see a few on Reverb but the price of 2, with shipping, would be more expensive than the Boss FS-7 I ordered new online. The FS-5U does work but can be a bit like herding cats maybe since it is a single switch pedal. I think the issue is a single pedal hooked up with a TRS cable. It will switch Snapshots like I want but then when I press it twice and then try to switch banks using the Up and Down switches on the POD Go it goes to Snapshot changes rather than Bank changes. Then you need to press something to get it back to bank changes which I haven't fully figured out yet (probably has to do with pressing the FS-5U one more time, IDK). I will give it a try with just a normal cable (not TRS) and see if that works.... Nope just checked with a regular cable (not TRS) and it does the same thing. The Up and Down switches on the Pod Go act as a bank switch until I press the FS-5U once. That will switch to the next Snapshot but then if I want to change banks after that the Down switch on the Pod GO now changes Snapshots even though it is set to BANKS. If I press the FS-5U a second time before using the Down switch on the POD Go then the Down switch will access the banks. Maybe I have something setup wrong in the settings, IDK. Hopefully the dual switch arriving tomorrow (with luck) will solve the weird behavior.

Thanks, that got me to where my single pedal Boss FS-5U works to increase the the Snapshot number. Almost just what I wanted. If anyone knows of a 2 switch pedal with buttons like the BOSS units but does not require a 9-volt battery (which as far I can tell the Boss FS-6U requires a battery) please let me know. I am looking but only finding the small button switches in very small casings. I prefer something with bigger pedals and bigger casing.
  12. Is there any way to change the current snapshot that is selected using an external footswitch? It seems like you can assign the external footswitch to any effect parameter but I can't see how to set it to step through snapshots.
