  1. I've been looking for solutions to this problem for awhile, only to find others with the same issue yet I can't find the solution. I'm using a brand new M1 Mac mini, which replaced by 2013 Macbook air that had the SAME exact issue. I run a helix stomp connected to my Mac with usb. I'm using garage band as a DAW and monitoring through the DAW to studio monitors. All is good when playing, no noticeable latency and after 5-10 minutes sudden 1-2 second latency making it unusable. It seems the latency is on the input to GarageBand - I am not seeing the sound levels in GarageBand move until 1-2 seconds after I strike the strings. When I plug in headphones to the helix there is no latency. I also have the helix running to my interface to go to the studio monitors. When I set the interface knob to direct (to hear the helix) there is no latency. A simple input switch and switch back in garage band fixes this issue... for 5 or 10 minutes until the problem comes back. As I said earlier, this was happening with my old MacBook Air as well. I don't think it's a performance issue, the M1 is a beast. I am thinking it's some sort of conflict in a setting I have wrong or something. Slight latency is not the issue, I know that going directly through the HX to studio monitors is optimal for lowest latency, but that just doesn't work in my setup. Any helpful advice is welcome.
