  1. I used a 2 button switch to make a mock expression pedal for my EXP 2 input. I used the normally closed contacts on the momentary switches. If you're not familiar with that, it means that the switch always is closed(the wires are connected) when the switch is not pressed. Pressing the switch opens the contact.   2. I mistakenly put my HX into edit mode in the middle of a song, while standing on a momentary switch for a swell effect. I don't want this to happen again, so I took a switcher I used touse for banking up and down on an effects box, and wired it to work. This box has two momentary switches, which I wired, through the normay closed contacts, in series, between the tip and ring of the jack. This leaves a permanent "heel down" 0 ohms. Across the contacts, I wired resistors. 5K ohms across one, and 10K ohms across the other. You can use any resistance you want to toggle an effect on. Pressing either of the switches takes that short out of the circuit, leaving the resistor as the only path from tip to ring. 5K is 50% of an expression pedal, while 10K is 100%. Releasing them immediately goes back to heel back, which toggles the effect off. If you rely on an open contact, you're basically putting an infinite resistance, which is the same as unplugging the expression pedal. Here is the schematic.
  3. I wanted to use an external momentary switch to turn an effect on in a patch outside of stomp box view. I like using patch view for my most basic sounds, clean, rhythm, lead, and piezo. I already have an expression pedal to control delays and reverb to make things more ambient. I wanted something that I could step on and release. I found an old switcher I used to toggle banks up and down in an old multi-effects unit, and it did the trick. I used both switches, and wired them to be a direct short normally. This is heel down postion(0%) on an expression pedal. I wired a 5K ohm resistor(50%) across the contacts on one switch, and a 10K ohm(100%) on the other. Toggling an effect on only requires a minimal resistance, so either switch can turn an effect on, but the different values of resistance allow me to assign different parameters to each switch. For example, I assigned a tremolo pedal to be turned on by expression pedal 2, with the minimum speed to the 5K switch, and maximum speed to the 10K switch. It works great, and I love the fact that I don't have to worry about stomping it a second time to turn it off. Of course, this setup would work with latching switches, but that would require a second stomp to turn it off. I've attached a rough diagram, in case anyone finds this useful. Cheers, Me
  4. Hello everyone. I recently set my HX up to pan hard left and right to direct my signals to amp for electric, and my piezo to an amp or PA for acoustic. It works great, but I find adding the pan blocks into my regular patch adds signal to my patch, changing the tone of the patch consiserably. It's not an issue with the piezo signal, but only the electric. Here's my signal chain. Electric into left guitar input> pan 100% left> Teemah block>send> Amp in (Friedman Runt or Orange Rocker 15, doesn't matter) >amp effects send >HX return>70s Chorus block>Gray Flanger>Kinky Boost>Simple Delay>Hall Reverb>Pan 100% left>L/mono out> Amp Return. The overloading happens with either the Timmy or Kinky Boost(for gain boost/lead boost respectively) off. All of my global ins/ outs are set to instrument level. And if I toggle any of them to line, there's still a big difference. When I toggle the pans off, my signal acts like I'm used to. The only adjustment for the pans is percentage left or right. Can I fix this? Thank you for any help.
