No Midi gurus here?

I am trying to control my Boss DR670 Rhythm Machine with my HX Effects via Midi. I am able to set the tempo of the DR670 using the HX Effects tap tempo, but I cannot change the song/pattern program and I cannot start and stop the Drum Machine. I have been through the DR670 manual and the Midi Implementation chart. Also, I have been through several Youtube videos on MIDI for the HX Effects. They are very helpful but not directly applicable to the DR670. It is as if the HX Effects uses a different schema and different terminology than the DR670. For example, in the Midi implementation chart, it says the following: Song Select Status Second F3H ssH ss=song number 00H - 63H(1-100) I do understand that 00H is hexadecimal for 0 and 63H is hex for 99, but I do not understand what is meant by F3H and I do not understand how the "status" and "second" parameters shown above co-relate to the HX Effects midi settings. Can someone please me link these two seemingly dissimilar concepts. Or is what I am attempting to do not possible with the DR670? Thanks
