I would really like to see full Showcase Song timeline editing added to the Helix Stadium desktop app, particularly the ability to create, move, and precisely position snapshot/preset change flags and markers.
One of the most useful applications of Showcase for me would be automating snapshot changes during live performances. I play guitar in a church worship band, and I'd like to start a Showcase Song along with our click track and then let Stadium automatically make my snapshot changes throughout the song.
For this to work well, the snapshot-change flags need to be positioned very accurately. Doing that on the Stadium touchscreen is cumbersome and makes programming an entire song much more difficult than it needs to be.
The desktop app would be a much better environment for this. Ideally, it would provide:
A large, zoomable Showcase timeline
Mouse-based placement and movement of flags and markers
Creation/editing of Preset and Snapshot change flags
Precise positioning by entering a time value, rather than relying entirely on dragging
Copy/paste or duplication of flags where appropriate
Full editing of an existing Showcase Song after it has been transferred to Stadium
Showcase has the potential to be a very powerful live-performance automation tool. Being able to program the timeline precisely on a computer and then transfer the finished song to Stadium would make that capability much more practical to use.
