I was getting the blue screen crash when either powering down my POD HD 500, or disconnecting the USB, however looking around I found that one simply has to go into Windows 10 settings, Bluetooth & other devices where you will find "POD HD500" (or your device) listed among any other devices, speakers, etc.. Left clicking on the item a "Remove device" button appears. You get an "Are you sure?... " type verification. Clicking "Yes" you get the tell-tale USB disconnect sound. You can then remove the USB with no problem. Simply reconnect USB for further interfacing when you wish remembering to repeat this disconnect procedure when exiting. One would assume software would be more user friendly these days but as long as one remembers to do this I think it's better than rebooting and dealing with blue screen.
