Did you ever resolve this? I'm also new to MIDI and have a Helix Floor : Boss RC500 combo. When I first got the Helix in March 2022, I wasted hours trying to get it to talk to the RC500 without much success. I gave up after a month and have just been controlling the Boss directly with one foot and the Helix with the other. More than a year on, I'm much more comfortable with how both units work and it seems crazy not to be tapping into their MIDI capabilities, especially as I'm a bit fed up of all the manic tap-dancing I have to do on stage. It's high time I re-visited the dark side, so any intelligence on the matter would be gratefully received!
