  1. Hi, I’m wondering if getting the powercab 112+ is worth it over the 112. Does it sound the same (or very close) if I put an ir block at the end of my signal chain on my helix as it does if I load it into the 112+? Let me know if any of you have any insights. Thanks
  2. Hi, I’m looking at getting a powercab to run with my helix floor. I currently use studio monitors, but they don’t have the amp in the room feel. I’m wondering if the powercab gives you the amp in the room feel like a traditional tube amp + cab. Does anyone have any insight on this?
  3. Thanks everyone for the advice! I practice in a fairly small room that is not acoustically treated, so I don't need or want super low bass tone and the power that 8" monitors bring. (Also, I usually put eq cuts around 80-100hz because my guitar has fairly dark pickups). I asked for advice from somebody from Sweetwater and they suggested JBL 305p (5" monitors) based on my room situation. However, like many of you suggested, I'll first try turning off by cab blocks and maybe that will fix the issue. If not, then I'll look into studio monitors some more and probably buy some. I'll take a look at the Kali's though because my monitors would be close to the wall.
  4. Hey guys, I'm looking at buying some studio monitors for my Helix Floor. Currently, I'm running into a cheap Fender amp and I believe that it is coloring my tone. I like using the amps and cabs in the Helix and everything sounds so much better in my Shure earbuds than my amp. Will studio monitors be any better than my amp in terms of sound quality and not coloring my tone? If so, what studio monitors would you suggest for a $200-300 budget?
