I'm in need of some advise towards getting the 60 or 100 version of the Catalyst.
As far as I know (I might be wrong), there is no much difference in volume between the 60 watt and the 100 watt version but 3dBs (please correct me if I'm wrong). My plan is to use the amp mostly as a pedal platform for external analog and digital pedals I already own and like. Most of the time I tend to play at home so I could switch to the 1/2 watt in either versions and not bother my wife or neighbours and still practice happily, but once a week I also go and jam with some pals in the studio and we usually crank the volume a bit cause LOUD drummer. Probably going to start playing some small gigs (<100 people) and I'm looking for some advise as to which one do you think might deliver it's best in all 3 situations.
Do you think the 60 watt version could get the tone quality compromised in the jam/small gigging situations if cranked, or do you think the 100 watt version would be TOO much even reducing it to 1/2 watts at home practicing which is where I would mostly play?
Besides, can I get a better tone response from the amp voicings from the 100 watt version or from the 60 watt version at high and low volumes or is it really the same in both? Not having in mind getting the 200 watt one.
