I just got my HX Effects a few days ago. Just tonight, I dowloaded HX Edit, and everything was working great. Software ran as it should. I used HX edit to update my HX Effects to 3.5, after the update HX edit was still working, but the green 'updates available' text was still displayed in the bottom right hand corner. I did the factory reset on the effects as recommended on the Line 6 website, and now HX edit won't connect to my effects. I've read the other post about the USB cable, but I doubt it because it was a span of about 30 seconds to a minute. Everything was working fine, updated, was working fine, factory reset, and now 'no device connected.'
The effects still works as an effects unit, I've tried to power down and back up, tried to disconnect power completely for a minute and reconnect, unplugged and replugged the USB cable into every available USB port, and nothing. Any help would be suuuuuupppppppeeerrrrrr.
