I have a second hand JTV 59 Variax and a second hand hd 500x, when i try to connect the two through a VDI cable (no battery in the variax) I can get no sound output although the Variax the lights on the selection switchs do come on so there must be some connection. If I use the 1/4" jack to connect there is no problem. I have tried another CAT5 cable but it makes no difference. Help gratefully recieved.
