I currently have a 3 year old spider valve mk2 212 amp which I use with an FBV Mk 1 short board. I rarely gig these days so mainly home use. I also have A Pod HD 500 which I bought 2nd hand this year. No matter how I use it, i.e. Through the front or connected via the power amp input at the back it doesn't sound as good as when I use the amp on its own. I'm considering changing the amp for a DT 25 head and cab as I'm thinking it would still have enough power for my needs, will sound better at low volume and work better with the HD 500. Also if I decide to do a gig at a house party or small bar it will be easier to carry. I'm also considering A DT 50 combo as they are about the same price in the UK currently but I'm worried about the weight. Any advice welcome.
