Thank you both for your replies. These “stackable snapshots” are pretty cool. I’ll play around with this. Where the snapshot was taking me was definitely messing me up. Yes, I got a little confused by “Snapshot Reselect”. I thought theElevators might have meant “Snapshot Edits”. Will copy/pasting the footswitches affect my snapshot parameter settings at all, or just the footswitch assignments?

Hello, I am trying customize stomp mode in command center and running into a little issue. First off, for this song, I am programming 6 snapshots and 2 looper commands. I am able to assign all of the commands properly, but only one of my snapshots retains the footswitch assignments. Every time I go to a different snapshot (except that first one I programmed) all the command center snapshot commands revert to “Next”. It’s as if I was in a snapshot when I programmed command center, you know? The only way to get back to my programmed footswitches is by cycling through the snapshots until I get to that 1st one I programmed. Is there a way to make the command center footswitch assignments the same in all 6 snapshots without having to go through and assign them individually in all 6 snapshots?

Thank you for the insight. In an effort to reduce cables, is it possible to eliminate going into the NS-2 before the Helix and just from the amp send to the NS-2 input? And NS-2 output to Helix return? So it would look like this: guitar -> Helix input Helix send -> amp Input amp send -> NS-2 input NS-2 out -> Helix return Helix out -> amp return

Hello, hoping someone can give me a little guidance. I connect my Helix LT with my EVH 5150 III 50W in 4CM. I’m running into some excessive feedback issues on the red channel if I raise the gain over 2.5 (just below 9:00). I’m trying to utilize a Boss NS-2 noise suppressor but I need a little help with the proper hookup. I want to place it after the EVH preamp, in the amp’s effects loop, before the time based effects of my Helix LT. I would think that just putting it between the send of the EVH and the return of the Helix would work, is that right? Would I just go from the amp send to the input of the NS-2 and from the output of the NS-2 to the return of the Helix? Could someone give me a layout of the signal chain, please?

I was able to do a little experimenting last night and I think I found what was happening. I had snapshots edit set to recall in global settings. When I went from stomp mode to snapshots mode some of the blocks were still enabled that were not supposed to be in a certain snapshot. Then I changed to another snapshot and it functioned as expected. When I went back to the previous snapshot it recalled those new blocks that were enabled. So in essence the first snapshot saved the changes from stomp mode. I wish it was possible to automatically recall a snapshot when switching from stomp mode to snapshot mode but that does not seem to be the case. Using discard snapshot edits seems to be a decent workaround, though I prefer snapshot recall. Thanks for that insight Schmalle, you were right. It doesn’t seem like that should have any effect when switching from stomp mode to snapshot mode, only within snapshot mode. But I’ll give it a try, thanks.

Hi Everyone. I’m new to Helix, upgraded from a PodGO. I mainly play in snapshot mode. Recently when I was practicing with my band I switched to stomp mode to play around with footswitches. When I went back to snapshot mode I expected all my settings to automatically recall to a snapshot. That didn’t happen. Even pressing on a snapshot footswitch didn’t override the bypasses from stomp mode. All the bypasses stayed how they were in stomp mode. What do I have to change so that when I go from stomp mode to snapshot mode all the bypasses and parameters automatically recall a snapshot? I’m having trouble finding something about this online or in the manual.

You say HX products, do you mean only HX Stomp, XL, HX Effects, etc? Or do you think the Helix Floor and Helix LT would have this problem, too?

Thanks for all your responses. I’m having no luck with any of the techniques recommended. I am finding it is a direct result of the amount of drive in the amp. A drastic increase or reduction causes it. At least on the modern style high gain amps I’ve tried. I’m wondering if this is only on the POD Go or do other Helix processors have the same issue? I am thinking about upgrading to a Helix LT because I need MIDI output capabilities anyway. But if it will have the same problem I may just go with a different brand.

Thanks! Yes, the clean snapshots are maxed on the amp channel level. And I’m out of free blocks, but I could probably move some stuff around. I didn’t think about adjusting the output block within a snapshot! I just defaulted to thinking it would affect all levels in the preset. You don’t think it would cause the same problem with the gain staging? Great recommendations!

Well, in order to level out my snapshots (clean and dirty) I use the level in my compressor. I have to crank it on the clean snapshot. I can’t get enough volume at the amp channel volume parameter to be level with my gain/drive snapshot. Maybe that is it? If I turn down the channel volume on the dirty snapshot I won’t have to use the compressor or EQ level for the clean. Maybe that will help?

Thanks for the reply, silverhead. Maybe the POD Go is just not the best option for me. Maybe I need something that can have 2 amps in the signal path, one a clean channel and one a dirty channel. And of course enough DSP to process that. Do you think a smoother transition could be acquired that way? I also need MIDI out to control an external amp so I’m thinking of trying the Stomp XL or Helix LT.

Hey everyone, maybe someone can help me with this: On my POD Go, when I switch from a very high gain snapshot to a clean snapshot (turning down the gain/drive/master, etc) I get this ugly “fwooomp” sound, it’s hard to describe. It happens going from clean to high gain, too. I am currently using a Cali IV Lead to utilize the headroom. But it happens using the Badonk, also. What is happening here and how can I make it a smoother transition? I love going from chug to sparkly clean but it’s like the POD Go just can’t handle such a drastic gain change. I’ve been searching online to see if anyone else has run into this and can’t seem to find anything. Could it be an impedance issue?
