  1. Awesome rd2rk!! Real simple. Thanks.
  2. Regarding the HX Effects does anyone know the rhyme or reason why when choosing and loading a preset, the snapshot selection is automatic for that preset? Or is it? Is it possible to program which snapshot loads when choosing to load a different preset? Thanks!
  3. As I said before, people ARE using the Helix AND the HX Stomp AS AN INTERFACE in addition to what those units were originally made for and I assumed that MAYBE the HX Effects could also be used in this way JUST LIKE THE Helix AND the HX Stomp are. After you responded I decided to get CONFIRMATION which is NOT a bad thing, so you can relax. Confirmation is a GOOD thing. As to the rest of your response 'twas confusing. I was speaking about the onboard synth pads on the HX Effects and the best way to plug the HX Effects into a DAW since plugging in something like an HX Effects straight into a DAWS interface is not as straightforward as all that. So I was asking others for to share their experience with the BEST way they have found to connect the HX Effects to their DAW. Thanks.
  4. I recently purchased Line 6 HX Effects and would like input on how people are using their HX Effects to record into there DAW. Some people who have Helix or HX Stomp are actually using them as their INTERFACE into there DAW which I found to be interesting. It seems as though HX Effects cannot be used as an actual interface like the Helix and HX Stomp (or am I wrong?) Anyhoo, if you are using your HX Effects while recording please please share the best way to connect the HX Effects for recording on a DAW for pc. One of the things I want to record using the HX Effects are the synth pads that can be created on the HX. During a song I would be using several different chords in synth pad form. If you have done this using HX Effects and recorded with that please let me know how. Thanks
  5. What is the best way to use HX Effects when connecting to a computer? I dont seem to be able to use HX Effects as an interface like you can with HX Stomp. Am I missing something? Thanks

      Hi,

It's not so much that you are missing something - it's the fact that the HX Effects was never designed, and or, marketed as a USB audio interface.

It only has a USB port for connecting to your computer for Firmware updates, using HX Edit to mange/edit your presets, and connect using MIDI over USB.

If you need to record over USB then you will require a dedicated Audio Interface and there are many, and various configurations available from various manufacturers at various price points. Essentially the choice is yours.

      Hope the helps/makes sense.

I've read that there are folks who use their Helix in their DAW in place of their regular interface using their Helix as a sound card/interface. That applies to HX Stomp as well. I assumed that HX Effects could be used in the same way

That's correct - many people (including me) use a Helix as an audio interface. The USB audio interface for those units is part of the design specifications. The HX Effects box was never designed/or marketed to be used as an audio interface. If it had amp modelling and audio interface functionality it would be a HX Stomp!

From the HX EFFECTS FAQ page:

Does HX Effects have an audio interface?
No. It's designed for your pedalboard. It will send and receive MIDI data over USB, however.

      Here's the link:

It is always best to fully research all a products functions and information before purchase - never assume anything! It makes an lollipop out of you and me!

      Hope this helps/makes sense.

  6. Thats the ticket datacommando!!! That video (your Oct 6 post w/video) explaines what I am trying to accomplish PERFECTLY!! F***! Grateful, finally getting it. My application is that I am using an acoustic guitar configured with the ability to run mono out OR stereo out meaning that the bass strings of the guitar are coming out the left channel and the treble strings are coming out the right channel thereby having the ability to produce a stereo image of my instrument. This video shows how to successfully do that IF I am using the stereo out feature of my acoustic guitar. Wow, I've been banging my head against the wall here for the last 10 days since the HX was delivered to my house. Have also been driving the support staff at Line 6 crazy as well so now I will be touching base with them letting them know that I got the answer I was looking for! Line 6 ROCKS!
  7. So I just aquired this the other day and am learning a lot of new, cool things. Presently, I am not even using ANY effects. My only focus presently is just on the HX's input features. Thanks
  8. Thanks for the input guys! Clarification of what I originally said will help. When I plug a sound source into my HX Effects unit the signal coming into the LEFT input is present in both LEFT and RIGHT outputs, to be expected. Mono. My issue is that when I then plug a sound source into the RIGHT input of the HX Effects I can hear the RIGHT input coming out of the RIGHT output (to be expected) but while all this is happening I am continueing to hear the LEFT input coming out of the RIGHT output combined with the RIGHT input. In otherwords, I understand that when there is LEFT input only both LEFT and RIGHT outputs have the same, exact signal (mono). But I think it is a realistic expectation to expect the left signal to no longer be present in the RIGHT output when plugging in a RIGHT sound source. Has anyone else had this experience? At the same time I will review what has already been posted and see if trying that might help.
  9. I recently bought a new Line 6 HX Effects unit. Been having trouble with the stereo inputs. Have read articles here and tried other things as well but the truth still remains that there is something wrong with the stereo inputs on my brand new Line 6 HX Effects unit. My recent observation is that on my HX Effects unit the LEFT input is in permanent, chronic MONO mode regardless of weather or not anything is plugged into the RIGHT channel input or not. Not so the other way around. When something is plugged into the RIGHT input only then the only output you here is from the right input. Is there a way to get the LEFT channel input to not always be stuck in MONO mode? I just bought the unit brand new the other day. Is there a fix for this issue? Thanks guys!
