  1. Went to local GC to play (surprised they actually had stock.) Played the amp and it sounded good, but sounded way different then my headphones which means it would be way different then the FOH. The rep there had me try the Headrush FRFR108 MkII, stating that was what he used as his monitor. It was very close to what I was hearing with my headphones plus they were on sale this month so saved $$ and got my solution. Dimed out they get a bit piercing but I'm always direct into a PA with in-ears on stage so for at home practice and possibly an occasional small venue these will work just fine. I think if I didn't go direct in FOH all the time I would have preferred the sound of the CX100's. Thanks for the info
  2. Thanks for the reply. Haven't done much with MIDI since I moved to the LT. Before I had a pedalboard with a M5, analog pedals and a Boss switcher that would control the different M5 settings. The LT does so much I don't even know about I'm just wondering what MIDI functions you would control on the CX100? a couple bills doesn't mean much in the long run if its something I will use. On stage, the front of the house controls volume and EQ through PA so its something that wouldn't carry through.
  3. I use a Helix LT direct through PA with in ear monitors for performance in H.O.W. setting. I am looking for a practice rig at home. I have been using good headphones but like to practice standing and the headphones annoy me. I sold my tube amp to pay for the Helix and really miss the amp in the room sound and feel, makes me want to play more. I use a lot of stereo effects and have a couple patches that have that big ethereal sound that one amp would not do. I have tried powered stereo monitors like you would use for a computer and the sound is too thin and lacks the amp in the room feel. Looking to "feel" the music as well. Need a big speaker to move air for that. Is getting a pair of cx60's the solution? Are the cx100's a better option or do they just get louder? Anybody here using this set up?
