  1. I put 2 songs in my music website: "How Are You So Far" is the song on top (guitar starts at 1:25), and "Take Away the Blame" (more guitar oriented) is the next song down. One song uses Roland COSM amp models, and the other song uses PodXT amp models. Can you tell which is which? Please tell me how you like the music, and how it can be improved. So, how reliable has the native been for you?

Based on my experience with a 10 year old iMac that I use for everything, I would never depend on a computer for a live performance (with or without Helix Native); though obviously a lot of people do. If I close any Helix Native gui before I shutdown my Cubase AI8, Helix Native has been quite reliable for me.

  10. First of all, is there a Helix Native version 1.8 pilot's manual yet? If so, could someone provide a link? I just downloaded Helix Native 1.81 after backing up all of my factory and user presets (including IR stuff). Isn't there a way to individually download just the new presets that have the new amp models and/or effects, and put them into empty User preset locations (so I don't overwrite all of my current User presets)? Or I can't save the new factory bundle straight to an empty User folder without over-writing all of my User presets? I have Cubase AI 8 (the latest version of version 8) and Mac OSX 10.11.6. BTW it is great having the Undo & Redo function. I'm way more likely to experiment now. Thank you Line 6!

Helix Native 1.8 idea/inquiry for new presets

datacommando, Thank you for replying again! I only own Helix Native, and no other Helix product. I have since read the 1.8 Helix Native pilot's guide a bit. It is very nice we have the Undo and Redo function now.

Helix Native 1.8 idea/inquiry for new presets

datacommando, Thank you for replying! Yes, I read those instructions (regarding Helix Native 1.8 presets). Correct me if I'm wrong, though it is my understanding that I will lose all of my custom presets if I load all of the Helix Native 1.8 presets, yes? So my idea was: to somehow save the new presets (whether it is all of them, or a select few) to a User folder, and not lose the custom presets I already had. Perhaps Line 6, or some kind customer could load the unique-for-Helix-Native-1.8-presets to customtone, where I could copy them to a User folder. Since I have yet to read the 1.8 pilot's manual, I wonder if 1.8 is affected in regard to customtone. Thank you for the pilot's guide info! I will check it out soon.

    Annoying 'hiss' under input signal

Any chance of trying a different electric guitar and see what happens? I have a Yamaha electric bass that I like, though it has gone through phases in the the past where it would have some extra unwanted noise on occasion, mostly on open notes (when no fingers were touching the strings). I even jerry-rigged a wire from the bridge of the bass to the inside of my mouth that helped at times (some sort of weird ground issue?). Not sure how safe that was, though I never got a shock. I don't think I've had that problem in years though. Maybe it didn't get along with a particular cable?

OK, sorry. Didn't notice the mp3 file that was attached. I wonder if the guitar pick-ups have anything to do with it. Are they hum-buckers?

Could the Helix Native noise gate help?
  24.
