  1. To anyone reading this when thinking about buying a Variax guitar: forget it. Variax guitars were a good idea for a few years, but: 1/ Line 6 discontinues almost everything after a few years 2/ working with the different Workbench versions is a compatibility nightmare 3/ when/if you can find them, parts are different from one guitar to another, with even different versions of the same part for the same guitar (different dimensions, references, etc). 4/ getting it fixed when you have a problem is another nightmare. 5/ navigating through their website would be funny if it one didn't feel like crying just trying to find the info you need, between Yamaha and Line 6.. Believe me, I loved my Variax and used it for a few years, but just forget it. A real good guitar should last more than 10 years and parts should be easy to find, and backward compatible.
  2. I'm replying to myself in case someone in France is looking for the same info. Your best solution at the moment for Variax guitars is www.tonesilk.com (located in the North of France) Quick reply, and you can tell they know what they're talking about. But it seems most parts for the Variax 300 have been discontinued. Pity really.
  3. Thanks, but... I've tripled checked already: and the OS is Win 7 which is mentioned among the compatible OSes for both Monkey and Workbench, and working fine (as you can see in the pics above). My main problem is not about software, though: it's about the guitar. How come nobody anywhere can tell me where I can get it fixed. Or should I just give up on my Variax guitar?
  4. Hi everyone, No sound from my (old) Variax 300, here in the West of France. And nowhere to get it fixed nearby. USB Connection is working fine (see attached docs) but guitar is not detected. Can't do a factory reset. Questions: what should I do first, and where can I get it fixed then? My local Variax dealer says they're not doing Variax rerpairs "at the moment", whatever that means... Thanks, Erick
