I may not have the exact same use case as the original poster, but at least for me, the current functionality isn’t sufficient.
What I’m trying to do is:
Keep the Helix unit on my desk so it’s easy to tweak tones and edit presets.
Control it from the floor using an external MIDI foot controller while playing.
In that setup, having to assign MIDI controls for every preset individually is simply too much work to be practical.
What I’d really like is the ability to emulate the built-in footswitches via MIDI, just like the previous Helix models supported. That way, the external MIDI controller would behave exactly like pressing the switches on the unit, regardless of the preset.
