  1. Hey all, I'm a Pod 2.0 user. I recently passed from El Capitan to macOS High Sierra and, after reinstalling the Line6 Edit, any time I hit the keyboard, the following error comes out: Unhandled exception in AWT dispatch thread Type: java.lang.RuntimeException Message: Non-Java exception raised, not handled! (Original problem: Deprecated in 10_12... DO NOT EVER USE CGSEventRecord directly. Bad things, man.... bad things.) This error withholds me from changing patch names, which is obviously a pretty big hindrance, since I'm preparing for a gig on monday. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling various versions of Java Runtime Environment, to no avail. Anyone else run into this issue and solved it? Thanks, Zurdyo ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ For anyone wanting to check out the log: Unhandled exception in AWT dispatch thread java.lang.RuntimeException: Non-Java exception raised, not handled! 2. Hey all, I was wondering if there was any way to trigger the POD 2 Tuner in a live situation via my FBV2 without having to kneel down and do it manually. Can I program that in via the MIDI editor or in any other way? Cheers, Ian
  3. Hey all, I tried to connect to the CustomTone.com section via the Line 6 Editor, but I get the following message: An exception was caught. java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: cmn.l6java.browser.L6NativeBrowser.L6NativeBrowserMac App info: Line 6 Edit 3.06.0 release - build 104 - Wed Nov 12 15:13:23 PST 2014 Date: 3/23/16 4:39 PM In thread: Thread[AWT-EventQueue-0,6,main] OS: Mac OS X (10.11.3 i386) Java VM Version: 1.6.0_65 Stack trace: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: cmn.l6java.browser.L6NativeBrowser.L6NativeBrowserMac at java.net.URLClassLoader$1.run(URLClassLoader.java:202) at java.security.AccessController.doPrivileged(Native Method) at java.net.URLClassLoader.findClass(URLClassLoader.java:190) at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(ClassLoader.java:306) at sun.misc.Launcher$AppClassLoader.loadClass(Launcher.java:301) at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(ClassLoader.java:247) at java.lang.Class.forName0(Native Method) at java.lang.Class.forName(Class.java:171) at cmn.l6java.browser.L6NativeBrowser.L6NativeBrowser.CreatePlatformBrowser(Unknown Source) at cmn.l6java.browser.L6NativeBrowser.L6NativeBrowser.<init>(Unknown Source) at line6editbase.app.L6ToneTransferBrowser.<init>(Unknown Source) at line6editbase.app.L6ToneTransferBrowser.ShowInstance(Unknown Source) at line6editbase.app.L6EditorApp.ShowToneTransfer(Unknown Source) at line6editbase.app.L6EditorApp.ShowToneTransfer(Unknown Source) at line6editbase.app.L6EditorApp$6.run(Unknown Source) at java.awt.event.InvocationEvent.dispatch(InvocationEvent.java:209) at java.awt.EventQueue.dispatchEventImpl(EventQueue.java:715) at java.awt.EventQueue.access$400(EventQueue.java:82) at java.awt.EventQueue$2.run(EventQueue.java:676) at java.awt.EventQueue$2.run(EventQueue.java:674) at java.security.AccessController.doPrivileged(Native Method) at java.security.AccessControlContext$1.doIntersectionPrivilege(AccessControlContext.java:86) at java.awt.EventQueue.dispatchEvent(EventQueue.java:685) at java.awt.EventDispatchThread.pumpOneEventForFilters(EventDispatchThread.java:296) at java.awt.EventDispatchThread.pumpEventsForFilter(EventDispatchThread.java:211) at java.awt.EventDispatchThread.pumpEventsForHierarchy(EventDispatchThread.java:201) at java.awt.EventDispatchThread.pumpEvents(EventDispatchThread.java:196) at java.awt.EventDispatchThread.pumpEvents(EventDispatchThread.java:188) at java.awt.EventDispatchThread.run(EventDispatchThread.java:122) Anyone got a clue what it means? Furthermore, is there any way I can directly install the .l6t sounds I download from CustomTone.com? Thanks, Ian
  4. I hear you and I'm probably not ready for a guitar that eventually becomes obsolete. Thanks for the chat! :)
  5. I get it, and made peace with the principle of technological obsolescence a long time ago. Yet, I see a Variax more as a guitar than a laptop. I understand that it's crammed with technology, yet it's still a musical instrument that I also have invested in making it closer to my playing style with the help of a luthier. This means that I cannot use the instrument at its full potential anymore. And whilst I'm ok with that in a laptop, I'm not ok with that in a guitar. That's why, as much as I love Line 6 products, I think I'm done with the Variax series. To me a guitar is forever and I'm afraid that's not compatible with the modern industry philosophy.
  6. Mmmmh, not sure I agree with you on this one. The issue may be due to Apple's newest OS or Oracle's newer versions of Java, but if Line 6 chooses to stop updating a software, then it's just a matter of time before it stops working with newer versions of OS's et al. So ultimately it's on Line 6. No idea why they stopped updating Workbench or why older Variax models don't work with Workbench HD, other than wanting to induce users to upgrade their Variax guitars. To me this just makes me want to sell my Line 6 product and not buy one ever again.
  7. I have a Variax 700 and haven't used Workbench since installing Mavericks. I do for the first time today and just like the OP, I get the error: An exception was caught. java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: cmn.l6java.utils.L6EmbeddedUtils.nativeHideSplash()V App info: Variax Workbench 1.54 release - build 93 - Mon Mar 31 14:17:16 PDT 2008 Date: 8/2/14 1:44 PM In thread: Thread[main,5,main] OS: Mac OS X (10.9.2 i386) Java VM Version: 1.6.0_65 Stack trace: java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: cmn.l6java.utils.L6EmbeddedUtils.nativeHideSplash()V at cmn.l6java.utils.L6EmbeddedUtils.nativeHideSplash(Native Method) at cmn.l6java.utils.L6EmbeddedUtils.HideLauncherSplash(L6EmbeddedUtils.java:39) at line6editbase.app.L6EditorApp.Start(L6EditorApp.java:459) at line6editbase.app.L6EditorApp.access$200(L6EditorApp.java:42) at line6editbase.app.L6EditorApp$L6ELauncherBootstrap.OnLaunch(L6EditorApp.java:310) at cmn.l6java.app.L6App.Launch(L6App.java:194) Can't believe the first post is dated December 2013 and Line 6 hasn't done anything about it yet.
  8. Hey all, I've been trying to record some distorted guitar parts with my Variax 700, but it makes a high-pitched feedback whenever I palm-mute the strings. I attached two recordings both from a Variax and a G&L guitar, or provided links. This is the recording of the Variax: https://soundcloud.com/zurdyo/variax I recorded the same part using a G&L guitar and this is the result: https://soundcloud.com/zurdyo/g-l I tried changing pickups with Workbench, or trying to change guitar models, but apparently it happens with every model. Anyone else having similar issues or can suggest a solution? Thanks, IanG&L.mp3Variax.mp3
