  1. Just realized that my G30 gives dropouts. This is in RF2 as well as in RF1 mode. Even if I sit close to it (70cm) and have the transmitter behind my back the transmitter signal level indicator is fluctuating and often off. I open both cases and layed both items on my desk in a distance of 60cm and even then the last LED of the transmitter indicator is flashing and sometimes even out. When switching off the transmitter the transmitter signal level indicator just shows 1-2 red LEDS for light to medium interference. Any idea what might be the issue? Ageing of components mostly applies to electrolyte capacitors but there is just only one 470µF in the receiver. Anyone knows of a successful repair?
  2. Hi folks, I'm guessing to get a Helix HX instead of a Midi foot controller like FCB1010 and also to get rid of my pedalboard so that I have only one unit for my rack setup and also other amps. But I'm not sure if the Helix can do this thing at once. So here is what I imagine: 1. Have the unit as a pedalboard like stompbox 2. change with a flic of a switch so that all 6 FS are only sending CC or PC via midi to control my amp and my rack FX. 3. When I change into 'Midi Foot Switch' mode all previous sounds with pedals in front should remain and the FS doesn't change anything of the pedals. 4. change back to the stompbox mode by another switch So in fact the same I can do with a midi foot controller and conventional pedalboard but in one unit. example: Helix HX adds univibe and fuzz in front of my rack. I switch over Midi mode and can change presets of my PCM80 and also change Amp channels with a midi control switch. Univibe and fuzz are still present. Then I switch back to the pedalboard and add a tremolo and switch off the univibe. Possible?? And how can you do this? Thanks!
  3. Nice to hear that I've found the culprit of this symptom. 6..3V for a 5V stabilized supply isn't unusual. It's more that these unit come into the end of the lifetime of the Caps!
  4. :D Got it working again! Just replaced C113 1000µF and C109 100µF. Both are located beneath the Mid pot. Again always if units quit working after some years at switch on look out for the caps in the supply circuits.
  5. What component type is the security chip and where is it located? I might have it resolder no porblem but need to know where it is...A picture would help. Thanks! Edit: I've finally got the service manual and it says: 10. The board is running but USB does not work. Check for faulty soldering on the USB controller U16 as well as the EEPROM U15 and secure memory U17 and pullup resistors R1 and R2. Check the special USB supply isolation circuit. ...... It's a symptom of faulty electrolytic caps if units stop working after shut off as they tend to dry out after years and lost their capacity. I will check and recap this circuit first. Thanks!
  6. I did already but the recommendation was to go to a service center...Jeez this unit is 15 years old...I don't want to invest 100 bucks or more...So that's why I asked here. I suppose this fault might have happend to smeone else who knows what to do. Thanks anyway!
  7. Hi, I've got a problem with my POD XT that says USB V 0.00 And the ESN is only zeros. It worked flawless but after power on after it wasn't used for some months it couldn't connect to the PC. After looking on the Versions page of the I saw it has v 3.01 installed but the Version for USB is zero also the ESN. Of course all model packs are also gone. Tried a reset but doesn't solve the problem. Couldn't try reflashing by midi as I don't have a Midi port SDRAM test is ok but Systemtest with button 4 on power on says Midi fail and FBX fail. What might be the issue? I bought already another one but would like to get the unit working again. Soldering of SMD devices is no problem but what component might be defective? Thanks!
