USB 2.0 or 3.0?

I just bought one used off Ebay, but it only comes with a power cable. What else do I need? (i.e. what kind of USB cable etc.)

When/why would someone use two amps?

I'm trying to decide whether to get the HD500 or 500X and from what I've seen, one of the main advantages of the 500X is more processing power, but I'm not sure what kinds of settings demand this extra power. I'd be getting the HD500(x) just as a way for me to not need an amp for practicing in my room, all I care about is getting some good punk and metal guitar tone out of it.

Ok so this is a dumb question but all I need at the barest minimum is just the HD500, the guitar, headphones and some cables (i.e. no amp of any kind needed)? What kind of cables do I need to get? I won't be playing in a live environment for a long time so this is purely for practicing in my room.

I am awake during the middle of the night and am considering getting a POD as I need something I can play guitar through HPs with. I have several high end-ish headphone amps, a speaker amp, and some really good headphones that I hope I can use --- will that work? Does my PC need to be in the chain somewhere as well? I've heard that PODs work better if you can put them through some sort of amp and THEN into HPs which is why I ask...
