  1. So looking at aftermarket “presets” are they using the existing amps and effects? And just their own custom ir’s? Or can they do their own amps and effects as well? some of them claim to reproduce “classic” or boutique amps. How are they doing this?
  2. I find the helix itself can distract from the process. I can see impulses even more so. and yet I just watched “get back”. The Beatles were quite limited equipment wise but yet produced some of the best music out there. my goal is to replicate my actual box ac30. I mean how many guitarists actually have 200 amps and cabinets? I just want a killer amp preset and I’ll treat it like a real amp. but the question is why didn’t line6 include ir’s?
  3. I’m going down the rabbit hole of impulse responses. I understand what they are, but what are the line6 cabinets? I.e they aren’t IR’s so what are they? if IR’s are the way to go then why didn’t line 6 put them in the helix to begin with?
  4. They’ve ordered a cable for me. So are you saying the foot controller is defective? It should be clearly readable from all angles? it kinda makes sense the way mine is because when you step away from the board, the preset name is crystal clear. Kinda lie it’s meant to be that way? or is there some kind of setting ?
  5. Did your foot controller come with a cable? Mine didn’t and retailer says sometimes they don’t to save money?/? And it’s looking like my controller was a floor “demo” model, not new. Not the end of the world, BUT I’m noticing the main display (preset name) is fine when I’ve stepped back from the controller, however when I move in to “change the presets”, and am standing over the controller I cannot see the middle of the display I.e I can read the characters on the left, and 1 or 2 on the right. is this normal or do I have a defect? looks like I may have to return
  6. Clarification...... first sentence “just got my new helix rack!” last sentence “it’s a floor model”.... I should have said store demo, floor demo, or something along those lines. ‘what I was trying to say is it,was used by the store as a demo or display model but was considered a new product as to,warranty.
  7. Good to,know. I’m impressed. I’ve only scrolled through the factory presets. I’m lovin it
  8. Hi guys. I just got my brand new helix rack! I just did the obligatory fondling of the product, played with all the buttons, dials, etc. sat and looked at it thinking “man am I lucky!” one thing I did notice and maybe it’s nothing, but the joystick “clicks” once when I push up, and also left. When I push down there are 2 “clicks” but when I push right there’s no click but rather a “scrunch” it appears to be working I.e it dials what it’s supposed to and clicks around the menu as it should. I just imagined it would “click” all the way around. defective, and possibly ready to break, or no big deal. this is my first “big” line6 purchase. It’s a floor model (still with new warranty) so it’s possible someone “did” something, but I was assured the rack was not on full display
