It seems the latest update may not have gone as well as I thought: followed datacommando's suggestion, to no avail, still couldn't save changes to expression pedal parameters, and unit froze, needing to,be restarted. Then I decided to reflash the 3.60 firmware using Line 6 Update; lo and behold, it did the trick! Restored my presets rrkm backup, did all the changes I needed and it saved everything, and the unit didn't freeze! Sorry to bother everyone!

Thanks so much for your input, datacommando. If I recall correctly, I have it set to Global, but I'll check it out tomorrow at my rehearsal place.

Anyone?

Hello, everyone, Currently running into an issue with my Helix Floor (Firmware 3.60) using a Mission Engineering EP1-L6-BK (the one without a switch) expression pedal plugged into the EXP 3 input, and wired via 4CM to Hughes & Kettner Grandmeister 40 Deluxe tube amp, MIDI-controlled by the Floor unit. I use the built-in expression pedal to control the output volume, and the Mission Engineering pedal to control the auto-engage wahs I've programmed in several presets. I'm also using Preset Spillover in General Settings, since my FX chains are simple enough, and using Shapshots to turn FX on and off.. The issue I'm having is that my expression wah settings (Controller Assign set to Parameter- Position / Controller- Exp 3 / Min Value- 5% / Max Value- 95%, and Bypass Assign set to Switch- Exp 3 / Position- 5% / Wait- 0% / Behaviour- Heel Down), altough I can save them, and they are all the same setting to allow the auto-engage function to work, the pedal isn't working in the same way. Last Tuesday on my rehearsal place I programmed a bunch if presets, and the auto-engage function worked flawlessly on User Presets 1A, 1C and 2A (and so on), but didn't work on User Presets 1B, 1D and 2B (and so on). On the latter, although I could see the wah position change, the effect either (1) only turns on if I move the pedal to heal down, but as soon as I move it up turns off, or (2) works as if heel down works as an on-off switch. Sometimes the unit would freeze, and had to turn it iff and on again after saving a preset, making sure every setting and parameter was correctly saved. Yesterday I brought my laptop, and using HX Edit, I backed up my presets, saw that the Behaviour setting had not been saved correctly on every Preset I previously programmed by hand, some presets showing as Toggle instead of Heel down. I made the necessary corrections and saved the presets, again the unit would freeze, and once more had to turn it iff and on again after saving a preset, making sure every setting and parameter was correctly saved. Saved a corrected backup of all presets, all seemingly working fine. Then I restored the unit from the latest backup, only to find that now the auto-engage function worked flawlessly on User Presets 1B, 1D and 2B (and so on), but didn't work on User Presets 1A, 1C and 2A (and so on)! Should I just reflash the firmware, and then do another Backup Restore? Could a corrupted preset be causing this? I tried copying a working preset to a malfunctioning one, but the issue persists... Sorry about the long post, but looked online for similar issues, to no avail. Thanks in advance!

Hi everyone, I'm a long time L6 products user, but am considering buying the HX Effects to go with my valve amp, and control channel switching via MIDI. I currently own a M13, and can do it free of hassle. I already know snapshots is the way to ensure seamless patch changes, but since I don't want to delve into it right away, is there a noticeable gap in sound when changing presets? Thanks in advance!

Hi everyone. Can someone give me a quick guide on how to program scenes in Latch mode so that I can change channels on the amp using MIDI PC change messages? So far I can't seem to make it work, apart that on Scene mode, switch 1A seems to make the amp go from high gain to crunch... Do I have to hit "save" on the amp to for it to save PC MIDI commands, after I set it to taste and program the M13's scenes? Running OMNI on both. Thanks in advance

Can two M9's be synced? MIDI and other questions
synapsys replied to synapsys's topic in M5 / M9 / M13
So the 1st M9 won't send PC commands? I thought it did, at least M13 did. If it does send PC commands, would a MIDI Thru box, send the PC received to the 2nd M9 and to the amp? I'll only be working with PC commands, so I thought this would be much easier... -
Hi, Everybody! I need some help with the following: Just bought a Hughes & Kettner Grandmeister 40 Deluxe head, which can change all of its settings via MIDI. Since I usually use quite a few effects, I'd like to know if its possible to link two M9's via MIDI, just for control. Here goes the MIDI chain, to see if both can be used to MIDI control the amp head: 1st M9 Midi Out===> 2nd M9 Midi In===>2nd M9 Midi Out===>Grandmeister 40 Deluxe Midi In This way, if I want to select a new patch, will the 1st M9 change (by MIDI) the patch on the 2nd M9 and also change channels on the amp head? Or would I need a MIDI Thru box between the 1st M9 and the 2nd M9 / amp head? Also the ideia is to have different effects routed differently on each M9, like this chain Guitar===>:1st M9 (Compressor / Drives / EQ)===> Amp IN===>Amp FX Loop Send===>2nd M9 (Modulation / Delay /Reverb===>Amp FX Loop Return I use different effect in each type for different amp channel (For instance, a Blue Comp and a Fuzz on clean, with tremolo, analog delay and spring reverb in the amp loop, and the change amp channel, to have a Vetta Juice, a Screamer on High Gain amp channel, with flanger, digital delay and hall reverb in the amp loop). So the ideia is to use MIDI to change presets on both M9's and on the amp at the same time. Is this doable? Final question concerning the noise gate. Since the M9 has a global noise gate, do I have to program it spearately in each, of can the gate also be changed on the 2nd M9 via MIDI? Hope tihs wasn't too confusing...

Actually I've been using the stock combo/cab configuration for about two years. It really allows for the best of both worlds, the open back combo giving the sound an almost 3D quality, and the closed cab pumping strong, defined lows. I favour Fenderish cleans with reverb/delay and Boogie-ish dirt sounds, to great success using this set.
