Recently got the HX stomp and running it fine with a Matrix Power amp to a couple of Xitone passive wedges....sounding nice.
The unit will be used as a backup for my live rig. When at practice I would like to run it 4CM with a 5150 III. I have run 4CM for years live and used gear like the Gsystem and AxeFXII. I have run into noise issues with high gain amps and have used EB hum eliminator etc.
I am wondering if anyone is getting a lot of noise with 4CM on high gain amps? The manual says nothing on TRS vs TS or the outputs quieting the noise down? Cables are all new and have been swapped. But, keeping it simple.....just FX loop block and Instrment level and the like for outputs.
The noise with or without an input gate is very loud. If I place another gate after the FX loop block it can be quieter but then I lose a block and lose a bit of dynamics feel.
Is there anything different being done to quiet this down a bit? Am I maybe not seeing something for settlings. Admit....only had it a couple days and just getting started. Any help or guidance appreciated.
