The V2 uses a 5 way MIDI footswitch

Hi there, I'm wondering if I were to buy a HD500x could I control my amp channels with it? I have a Randall V2 which uses a MIDI footswitch for all the channel changing. Would the HD500 work as a footswitch as well as FX unit? Cheers, Sam
